Texas House Speaker Dade Phelan late Tuesday signed 52 arrest warrants for Democrats who left the state for Washington D.C. in mid-July
•A few Democrats have returned to the House chamber for the second special legislative session of the year but many of them are still absent from the session
•The warrants will be delivered to the House Sergeant-at-arms on Wednesday morning, according to Phelan spokesperson Enrique Marquez
•Texan Democrats fled the Lone Star State forcing Republicans to wait on new voting restrictions, which would potentially ban drive-thru and 24-hour voting
•While lawmakers would not face jail time if arrested, they may be brought to the state's Capitol by law enforcement
Rep. Celia Israel, who serves the 50th district of Texas, returned to her home in the outskirts of Austin but hasn't been to the State Capitol, where the House meets.

This is the state house in Austin, not the federal in DC.
Not restrictions, but correctly voting security for free and fair elections.

I’d offer the folks two choices. Either resign from your legislative position (not running for office of any type for five years), or accept sixty days in 2022 picking up trash along the interstates of Texas (when the legislature is not in session). We don’t need to waste jails for these people. But they need some type of lesson.

There should be some hefty fines levelled, say, $500/day? They’re out of town, ram the legislation through without them. Have the governor declare a state of emergency and pass whatever laws they need, on a republican vote. We’ve long ago reached banana republic status, so it’s time to get with the program. If the shoe was on the other foot, the dems would have long ago impeached them and replaced them.
Somebody’s attitude needs to be given an adjustment. She seems to be a good candidate for “Texas law is no respector of persons”
This is repetitious. I remember this same exact crap. BUT! Why is it ALWAYS the democrats that fight “tooth and nail”? and NEVER the republicans? I have seen texas democrats pull this quorum crap twice in the last 20 or 30 years. I’ve YET to see the republicans grow a pair of gonads to do the same. Republicans are NOTHING but a bunch of cowards, liars and thieves! What a choice! The democrats are liars and thieves, but at least they are NOT “cowards”. If you are going to line up behind someone before a fight, make sure that you line up behind someone who will “actually” fight! The republican party does NOT belong in ANY “fight”. The republican party partners with the democrat party to take money from you!
