“We should never fully return to our maskless society where only health care providers donned a mask, because judicious use of masks will continue to save lives” (emphasis added). This is not the fringe statement of some obscure crank. It is the view of two doctors at New York’s Mount Sinai School of Medicine, one of the nation’s most prestigious medical schools, writing in a New York Daily News op-ed this spring.
Now that the COVID-19 pandemic is retreating, it may seem absurd to propose further mask mandates in response to lesser—or even seasonal—viral threats. But Julia Carrie Wong, writing in the Guardian, reports that many Americans like their masks just fine. Francesca, a 46-year-old, fully vaccinated professor in New York, will not abandon her “invisibility cloak” just yet. “It has been such a relief to feel anonymous,” she explains. “It’s like having a force field around me that says, ‘don’t see me.’” Becca, a 25-year-old bookstore employee near Chicago, reports that she and her co-workers “prefer not having customers see our faces,” because “[w]ith a mask, I don’t have to smile at them or worry about keeping a neutral face.” Bob, a 75-year-old retiree in New Jersey, says wearing a mask “frees” him from having to “appear happy.” Aimee, a 44-year-old screenwriter in Los Angeles, likes the “emotional freedom” that comes from wearing a mask: “It’s almost like taking away the male gaze.”
Ostensibly, the point of wearing masks is not to furnish oneself with an emotional crutch but to prevent viral transmission. Many Americans have been taught to believe that masks work—at least a little—and that wearing them comes at a minimal cost. Nearly the opposite is true. The best scientific evidence invites a far less rosy assessment of masks’ effectiveness than is broadcast by public health officials.

Masks are:
1) a sign of submission, subversion and subjugation
2) mandated in order to dehumanize
3) virtue signaling devices
4) meant to provide constant reinforcement of fear
5) used to destroy community, friends and family normal communication
6) implemented to create isolation, confusion, anxiety, destroy human connectivity, trust and interactions
7) mandated to exacerbate illness
8) intended to aid in the abandonment of the belief and reliance on our immune systems
9) intended to refute integrous science
10) signal to positions of power that you are willing to give up all of your rights and freedoms based on anything they say, even if it is a BIG FAT LIE!

One round of being on the recieving end of the knock out game should fix that......are people really morons?? Sheesh
I’ve been in several doctor’s offices. For the most part, the staff are wearing chin-diapers until you are right in front of them. Their body language is says they are really tired of the charade. In virtually every setting so far, the actual doctor isn’t wearing a mask unless the patient is wearing one. The elderly in the lobbies are terrified and when they walk past some of them will hold their hands up between the unmasked and themselves, or they’ll use their hand as an additional cover over their mask. It’s sad to see people so terrified over something that is virtually useless.
Yes, because what we need in the internet age is *less* actual human interaction. *sigh*
“fully vaccinated professor in New York”
Bet she is hyphenated as well.
Plus the masks cover up the leftist ugliness.
I doubt that any male would want to gaze at “Aimee.”
Yeah....professor of what I wonder....probly never had a REAL job in her life.
You know the old saying “those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach”
Okay, so now I'm supposed to believe that in her pre-mask days men looked too much at her face? LOL
I have to tread lightly. My son’s wife teaches elementary school (parochial)
How can you tell if someone is a teacher or nurse?
Wait five minutes and they will tell you.
Depends on whether or not she meets the criteria of Rush’s undeniable truth number 24.
“fully vaccinated professor in New York”
How many Clotshots does it take anymore to be “fully vaccinated?”
Masks are iconoclastic!!!!
That especially applies to those who intend to mask up after the covid pandemic is over—allegedly for flu, colds, etc.
Good one!
I have WAY more respect for an elementary teacher than a college professor
One thing I noticed when people started wearing masks was silence. Stores were as quiet as research libraries, or maybe tombs.
I went into a large store late at night when they were restocking, just after mask mandates were lifted.
It was great! The employees were laughing and joking around, it was like life had returned!
Two more bad things about masks: for those with trouble hearing, not only are words muffled, but there is no communicative assistance from the face.
I think lack of smiles is also bad for people, especially children.
"These are sophisticated people" and that "it's not a big deal".
I agree. Children are losing out on something extremely important in human social interaction: how to read other people’s expressions. It really is a crucial life skill.
Dogs read people; they read each other.
When I crouch down and look at my black Lab with a smile on my face, she does the same thing. She wants to play, thinking that I do too. :)
I am quite sure that every other animal does the same thing.
Does she even exist?
