Romney is jumping up and down to help.
************
Dems can easily find a couple of RINO Repukes to help them out. The GOP is full of them.
As for the debt limit, it ceased to be a real thing long ago. If the Feds followed Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, back in 2017 Boston University Professor Larry Kotlikoff estimated the true national debt at $210 trillion. USDebtClock.org currently estimates it at over $175 trillion. Regardless of the “real” number, the only realistic outcomes are default or hyperinflation, not repayment.
The money line here in Galt’s Gulch is on Atlas getting smushed - no shrugging this one off.
Be sure. Any pair McConnell may have suddenly found are completely water soluble and it’s very close to bath time.
“LOL! The GOP lost any claim they ever had to being the party of fiscal responsibility decades ago. They raised the debt limit twice under Trump and added over $6 trillion to the debt.”
The economies of the entire world are insane. While it seems that adding to the debt is a stupid thing to do, I’ve been reading and watching economists talk about the problems and it appears that there’s no right, or even reasonable thing to do that won’t cause a catastrophe. Suppose the government suddenly stopped creating money out of thin air. My impression is that it would be like the lead horse in a close cluster of racers stumbling and falling down. The following horses would all trip in a cascade that would cause deaths and inquires. Here are some examples for Japan (which I think was much simpler than what’s going on now with the US) and how they ended up in a disaster that’s still ongoing after thirty years. Listen for what the economists thought would happen as opposed to what really happened.

// Thank you for growing a pair, Mitch.
Only when it doesn’t matter. This is nothing but theater.
OMG, he’s “taken the floor.” Everybody run.
Fall asleep is more like it.
Washed up Mitch. Just five and a half more years and we’re done with him.
Why bother voting.
Didn’t Sinema already say she’d vote NO?
Yes. He just wants them to be forced to find them.
He hasn’t grown a pair of anything, it’s just talk. He’ll line the GOP up and they will all cave-in like little cowards.
And the barn’s burned down.
And the land’s all been washed away in a flood.
Exactly.
Whether they can or not, they will. But they’ll have to. So Mitch gets an ataboy for piddling on the newspaper this time, and the band plays on. Dark days are coming.
The captain of the Washington Generals dutifully reads his scripted part.
China Mitch would rather a government shut down battle than an extended beating on the reconciliation bill. In the end he’ll cave there but he’s desperately trying to change the subject from the linked bills.
“Americans have shown themselves to be either stupid, willing to let elections be stolen, or both.”
Actually 70 years of ever increasing social programs (number, size and scope) have resulted in a situation where over 50% of the voters are in some way dependent on direct or indirect payments or subsidies from the federal government. History shows that once this tipping point is reached, the voters will vote for more payments and subsidies from the public treasury until the country is insolvent and the economy collapses. It is also noteworthy that we are also at the magic 50% point where half the adult population does not pay federal income taxes so they feel no pain when taxes are raised to support the spending programs they demand.
“Republicans will keep re-electing Assistant Democrats until they assist the Democrats to that permanent majority.”
They forget the lessons of history. When the Marxists assume dictatorial power in a nation, the collaborators are among the first to experience the gallows and firing squads.
Just more good cop/bad cop to keep voting these jokers back into office. BOTH parties have the same goal: To keep people voting for them so they can continue to sell out the country and turn us over to their overlords in China.
“Thank you for growing a pair, Mitch.”
He ain’t been “growing” nothing; damned things are prosthetic.
