Elapsed time since BNT162b2 vaccine and risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection in a large cohort [“boosters” coming]

...Results. The cohort included 33,993 fully vaccinated adults, 49% women, with a mean age of 47 years (SD, 17 years), who received an RT-PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 during the study period. The median time between the second dose of the vaccine and the RT-PCR test was 146 days, interquartile range [121-167] days. 608 (1.8%) patients had positive test results. There was a significantly higher rate of positive results among patients who received their second vaccine dose at least 146 days before the RT-PCR test compared to patients who have received their vaccine less than 146 days before: odds ratio for infection was 3.00 for patients aged over 60 (95% CI 1.86-5.11); 2.29 for patients aged between 40 and 59 (95% CI 1.67-3.17); and 1.74 for patients aged between 18 and 39 (95% CI 1.27-2.37); P<0.001 in each age group.

Conclusions and Relevance. In this large population study of patients tested for SARS-CoV-2 by RT-PCR following two doses of mRNA BNT162b2 vaccine, we observe a significant increase of the risk of infection in individuals who received their last vaccine dose since at least 146 days ago, particularly among patients older than 60...

Attention whoever wants near-zero-positivity rates forever... Vaccines are not working past the length of the original clinical trials (shocker)

Am I reading this correctly - 97% did not become infected?

It shocks me that supposedly intelligent people, don’t see RED FLAGS on all these lies? Someone explain to me why anyone would trust these bastards with anything having to do with your health, your lives, and our country? WTF?

All these vermin tell you that they “care” when they don’t give a damn about your health or your life. Let me say that again, they don’t give a damn about you, your life, your freedom, or this country!

They care about themselves and how much money they can steal from you and how much freedom they can remove from you. In other words, they consider you their slaves to do with as they please. Wake up and see the truth about all bastards out there on the take. Check the protests in France, Britain, Greece, Italy, Germany and other countries where they’ve figured it out already.

looks those vaccine “passports” are gonna get mighty complicated, if a “booster” is required every six months; they’ll end up being like an ACTUAL passport, with vaccine “visa” stamps for every booster injected ...

“Am I reading this correctly - 97% did not become infected?”

Of their sample of 33,993, 608 (1.8%) tested positive.

The sample was all people who had some reason to seek a Covid test. So the rate would be much higher than in the general population.

so people got two injections to try to prevent COVID, and come to find out, they didn’t work.

So now they are pushing boosters to what exactly?

Not work either?

Actually they do care. They don’t want you to have any of it.

“so people got two injections to try to prevent COVID, and come to find out, they didn’t work”

No evidence from this that they don’t work. What seems to be the case is that immunity declines over time (as it does for natural infection).

In this study the likelihood of getting Covid doubles after 6 months. That means the vaccine goes from 95% effective to 90%.

Immunity will continue to fade, and that does mean a booster may be needed every few years, but that is normal for vaccines.

We may still avoid that. There is good evidence the vaccines also reduce severity, so you might get it, but if your immune system is primed by a vaccine it will be no worse than the common cold.

Is this the same PCR test that the CDC has now said is inaccurate, and as of December 31st, they will be pulling their emergency request to use it?

Not all infections by the same pathogen are the same.

It matters (a lot) if I get the sniffles or no symptoms at all OR if I am placed on a ventilator and eventually die.

Good points. I’d add that vaccine effectiveness is also reliant on the strain not mutating to the point where the vaccine can remain helpful.

You cannot “undo” a vaccine. I’ll stay with my safe HCQ regimen, thank you.

Any evidence for this claim?

That’s one test from one company that produced only 77,000 of them.

Considering the USA has averaged one million tests a day for most the pandemic that is a tiny fraction.

Want to try again?

I did not write the original question.

“Is this the same PCR test that the CDC has now said is inaccurate”

I simply responded to your request for evidence.

Want to try again? Smacks a little of self righteous arrogance doesn't it?

Sorry for that, I did think you were the same person who had made the incorrect assertion.
