Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed a package of bills into law to try to make feminine hygiene products more accessible in Illinois, but some lawmakers have raised concerns about the cost and effectiveness of the measures.
One measure, House Bill 641, requires all public universities and community colleges to provide free feminine hygiene products in campus bathrooms.
“Approximately half our population experiences menstruation throughout a significant portion of their lifetimes,” said the bill’s sponsor, Rep. Katie Stuart, D-Edwardsville. “This is a normal function of our biology and needs to be seen and treated as such.

The Governor is a douche.
Summary: Democrats think that female university students are such dumbasses that they cannot figure out how to purchase these products by themselves.
And, given what I see coming into and out of our universities, they are correct.
Probably going to put dispensers in “mens” rooms ... y’know ... to be “inclusive” and “non-judgmental” ... neither of which the Left knows anything about!
I hate to say it, but Walmart has done a much better job of providing “better access to feminine hygiene products in Illinois” than Illinois government could ever dream of.
Stop worshiping vaginas.
FFS! Yet another thing that We The People of the state of Illinois will pay for! Does this mean that we are paying for Pricker’s daughter’s products? FFS! 😠
Not all Douches are created equal.
It’s like all the fat kids who “go to bed hungry every night”.
who cares?
Then it is a misnomer to call these “feminine” hygiene products
MENSTRUAL (RATHER THAN FEMININE) HYGIENE PRODUCTS IN EVERY ILLINOIS PUBLIC SCHOOL BATHROOM
HB0156
EDUC-MENSTRUAL HYGIENE PRODUCT
Amends the School Code. Provides that a school district shall make menstrual (rather than feminine) hygiene products available, at no cost to students, in each bathroom of every school building (rather than in bathrooms of school buildings). Effective immediately.

How many of these women have Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, Netflix, et al?
“Stop worshiping vaginas.”
Alright, let’s not get carried away.
… Leftwingers decrying that this is transphobic any moment now….
This has nothing to do with feminine products. It’s all about convincing another group of people that without government, you can’t function.
Sell the products in the drive-thru lanes at fast-food joints?
Call them ‘Unhappy Meals’.
When I was a really small child such products were often in women’s restrooms. They were not free but they were available. I do not know personally how often the products are in vending machines in women’s restrooms these days.
One issue that comes from years of development of such products is that many different brands and styles are now available, and the more “standard” models may be less desirable today. The questions become, (1) how many different brands and styles does the law require women’s restrooms provide, (2) and if the most common styles provided are the more “standard” models, will they be frequently chosen, or will those required to stock them have frequently unused supplies. That’s not even mentioning the theft of the products mentioned by one of the Illinois reps.
“Across the country, one in four women regularly struggle to purchase menstrual products due to lack of income,”
Did any of the reps demand the rep who made this statement back it up with proof?? I doubt it.
Many such statements are made with poor economic assumptions that took a basket of “necessary” goods and services against a certain income level and concluded that after acquiring that basket of “necessary” goods and services, at that income level there was insufficient income left for acquiring a woman’s “feminine products”. Yet, is completely a judgement call whether every woman finds every item in that basket of “necessary” goods and services as of greater priority than their “feminine products”.
What is this all really about?
Communistic socialism - the government will provide. Once approved under the proposed law, it would be expanded, inch by inch, year by year, to more demographic groups of women and more of the cost would be placed on taxpayers, inch by inch, until all “feminine products” were free and available at your government store. Then many women will go to the black market to get the better ones only available on the black market.
I’d be ok with giving every liberal a Malthusian belt. And mandating it for people on Welfare.
