Somehow I think Dems were involved and it involved the same kind of messy interactions, but I just can’t quite put my finger on it...

It will be interesting to see how she does. It will be an epic battle between her and the AG, the race card will be flying all over the place.
Maybe she’ll repeal the unconstitutional Safe Act.

If I recall, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was once endorsed by the NRA. As was Harry Reid.

I’m not sure Cuomo is a slam dunk to be convicted if he is impeached. It’s the state senators plus 7 judges who vote, all of the judges were appointed by Cuomo. And they need 46/69 to convict.
Honestly, Hochul is about the best NY can do.
Spitzer was a gutless wimp who resigned.
Any Dem worth his bona fides would fight to the end.

Hochul has risen up the Democrat ranks by simply being inoffensive to everyone.
She started as a small-town board member in upstate NY. She seems to rise higher every time a corrupt/perverted NY Governor bites the dust. Cuomo picked her as Lt. Governor because the downstate politicians always try and throw a bone to the rubes in Upstate, and Hochul fit the bill.
From her roots, she’s certainly not a radical, but I have no doubt the Democrat Party downstate will eventually push her to be more radical, or replace her entirely.
When she represented a conservative congressional district district she was for gun rights. When they offered her Hillary's vacated senate seat and told her she'd have to recant everything she had previously (purportedly) believed in, she said "okay, where do I sign!" Now according to her, "the NRA is the worst organization in the world!"
It's always funny to watch 'rats do a 180 like that. Al Gore did the same thing on abortion.
The best we can do?
Then NYS is screwed.
Makes me sick. But it is not just rats. Think back to Gerald Ford becoming president and “moving to represent the entire country” which meant he began supporting ERA instead of opposing.
Think of Jeb Bush “moving to the center.”
Think of John McCain “moving to the center.”
Think of Willard Romney “moving to the center.”
Think of the disappointing governor of Georgia.
At least we won’t have a horny Italian fondling all the women. At best, NYS is screwed anyway.
She’s a Democrat, so I’m not impressed already.
She grew up in Hamburg NY .
A very conservative small village .
My Aunt knew her and family .
She warned she was a snake and a lawyer educated in DC .
