Richard Trumka, president of the powerful AFL-CIO labor organization, has died unexpectedly, two sources told POLITICO. Trumka, 72, had served as president of the federation, which represents more than 12.5 million workers, for more than a decade and has been a close ally of the Biden White House.
Trumka died of what was believed to be a heart attack, a source familiar with the matter said. It was unclear when exactly it occurred though believed to have taken place either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning

I don’t know how to feel Guess I’ll just go on living. Whatever union he was king of, I don’t expect any changes.
okay, sorry to be dense but does he come out against it at the end of July?
George Meany outlived him despite having a cigar permanently in his mouth.
More money that he & his cronies could soak up perhaps the rank-n-file got some but only as an after thought.
Fundamentally he was a gangster ask the Yablonski family!
I wonder if SNL will do a running gag about this:
AFL-CIO President Trumka is still dead.
No idea.
Have you done a search for any updates?
I was just trying to clear up the confusion from your post saying he said something different on 7/28
I’d like to por a bottle of whiskey on his grave....after I filter it through my body.
Sorry for any confusion.....I should’ve said/explained that this is the LATEST I could find, from him.
Vaxxed?
Welcome off my Liste d'merde, Richard.
I’ll second your no comment.

Arkancide?
Epsteined?
No joke. I’ve read for years that there have been knives out within the AFL-CIO for Trumka. And of course each other.
Will be interesting to follow the battle for control of the AFL-CIO politburo. Huge amounts of money at stake, especially control of the pension fund.
So he won’t be spending Eternity in a anonymous hole in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, unlike a lot of his acquaintances?
Agreed with it... NO COMMENT!!
no comment...no theories...no guesses....but strange and timely death...
Here is a different point of view.

To the best of my knowledge, Trumka did not oppose Hillary’s plan to shut down the mines and throw the miners out of work. He also doesn’t have appeared to have spoken out strongly against the outsourcing of jobs to China. A strong union leader, dedicated to the welfare of his members, would have gone to verbal war with these threats to his members.
Kind of depended which network he was being interviewed on. I would see him a decent amount on CNBC and he took on a more moderate tone there.
