My guess is, if they do get away with
this, they’re going to give the task
of tracking mileage to the insurance
companies. They already have the
technology. It won’t work on autos
that don’t have a diagnostic port,
but there aren’t too many of those
still on the highway. The majority
that are still out there have
reached “collector” or “antique”
status and don’t get driven much
anyway.
