Two law enforcement officers told ABC News that after stabbing the officer, Lanz disarmed him and shot him with his own gun. The officers fatally shot Lanz in response to the attack, however, it is unclear whether the suspect shot himself or was killed by responding officers.
Lanz was detained earlier this year after purportedly enlisting in the US Marine Corps in 2012 and being “administratively separated” barely a month later.
According to online court records obtained by AP, Lanz was arrested in April in Cobb County, Georgia, on criminal trespassing and burglary charges.
On the same day as his detention, a separate criminal case was filed against Lanz with six additional allegations, including two counts of aggravated battery on police, one count of making a terrorist threat, and one act of rioting in a prison institution...
Lanz’s bond was decreased by a court, and he was released – on the condition that he refrain from using illegal narcotics and undergo a mental health evaluation.

Another article said the FBI was investigating this. Unless this guy was an FBI asset, why are they involved? Doesn’t the military have their own police agency to investigate this stuff?
This guy comes from north Atlanta...probably upper income family and hired lawyers to get him out of trouble. I also think he’s got a record on the gun business....where he can’t buy a weapon.
Just begs the question though...why make this journey up to the Pentagon subway station?

Since it involved the Pentagon (I think the bus stop is technically ON federal property) that’d put it in federal jurisdiction.
This story has NO play at all in my local media.

Military police investigate the military. They don’t have any authority to investigate crimes involving a civilian suspect.
How about violent nutter wanted to be in the marines; recruiter needed to meet a quota and let him sign up; basic training sgts saw he was big trouble/got him thrown out quickly; wants revenge against the military, and Pentagon symbolizes the US military?
FBI is there to create the white terrorist narrative.
