As the world staggers through another summer of extreme weather, experts are noticing something different: 2021′s onslaught is hitting harder and in places that have been spared global warming’s wrath in the past.
Wealthy countries such as the United States, Canada, Germany and Belgium are joining poorer and more vulnerable nations on a growing list of extreme weather events that scientists say have some connection to human-caused climate change.
Killer floods hit China, but hundreds of people also drowned in parts of Germany and Belgium not used to being inundated. Canada and the Pacific Northwest of the U.S. had what climate scientist Zeke Hausfarter called “scary” heat that soared well past triple digits in Fahrenheit and into the high 40s in Celsius, shattering records and accompanied by unusual wildfires. Now southern Europe is seeing unprecedented heat and fire.
Though it is too early to say the summer of 2021 will again break records for climate disasters, “We’re certainly starting to see climate change push extreme events into new territories where they haven’t been seen before,” Hausfarter said.
Climate scientists say there is little doubt climate change from the burning of coal, oil and natural gas is driving extreme events.

Milder than normal here in AZ
This has been the nicest summer energy in Virginia. So mild and nice. I love it.
This year’s summer of “SUMMER WEATHER” hits wealthier places. 🌞💧🍃. Trust me when I tell summers in Tampa wasn’t cooled much by opening the jalosie (space) more in the early ‘50s. ZERO AC. Quit whining.
(sp), NOT(space).
He would blush to write crap like this:
“As the world staggers through another summer “
Up here in the northeast, I’ve worn my coat to work everyday for the last week. We’ve had rain and minor flooding but our drought has been fixed. It’s going to be a cold, snowy winter according to the plants and the bugs.
“...in places that have been spared global warming’s wrath in the past.”
If the warming is global, how can any place be spared? This is another idiotic piece of inept propaganda.
Anybody got a good Farmer’s Almanac?
We have had the absolutely coolest summer and the most lovely rain in Arizona this summer than I’ve ever seen. It has been glorious. Even this week, the middle of summer, the heat will be 8 to 10 degrees cooler than normal. It is blessed glorious!
It’s called weather and it always fluctuates from year to year. Some of us old codgers remember record cold and snowy winters and hotter than normal summers as well as warmer winters and cooler summers. These weather fluctuations are normal and not climatic change.
“places that have been spared global warming’s wrath in the past.”
HaHaHaHaHaHa that is some funny sh*t right there.
You mean the same extreme weather we've experienced for 2 thousand years?
You mean places like where dim politicians have their second or third mansions?
Best summer ever in Texas! We have yet to make it to 100 and it rains about once a week.
I think it may have been Joe Bastardi who reported that the “surprise” floods in Germany had been forecast by German meteorologists TWO WEEKS before the rain that caused them fell from the sky.
“Wealthy white majorities hardest hit.”
END GLOBAL SUMMER NOW
