The maintenance specs said 25 hours, but in real life it was more like 15-17 hours. The metallurgy never really met the design standards, so the fan blades started showing stress cracks earlier than anticipated, and the motor either had to be taken out of service early, or risk catastrophic failure.
I like the Harrier. VTOL. Don’t need airports. Can land even in military exigencies on cargo container ships, converted barges. 2nd best air-to-air kill ratio even though it is essentially a bomber.
I heard they even knowingly bolted together dissimilar metals. Very short term solution.

I wouldn’t but I retired in 1995 nso back then it wasn’t a problem for me since I was self employed and had 2 guys working for me so no problem there.
Back in the 1960s I worked in Commercial Banking and you ever watched MadMen on TV then you would get an idea of what went on back then and not just in Ad Agencies and Banking but in every Corporate Office across the country.
They were “the good old days” for sure.
I’m a woman and old school type. Requiring men to refrain from commenting on or to women is like asking women today to put on some clothes.....they won’t.
