According the the NYC Health website, 35% of Blacks, 48% of Whites, 48% of Hispanics and 76% of Asian NYC residents have received at least 1 dose of the vaccine. (This sounds amazingly low. Who knew that there were so many vaccine-hesitant Evangelicals and Trump voters in NYC?)

There’s a new mayor next year so Bill De Blasio has his “lame duck” status and won’t face voters. He has to look to the future which pharma company is giving him the $$$$?

Hizzoner does not plan to start there, but he has already hinted that he's already thinking of going there. This is a well-trodden path. DeBlasio is starting with "optional" things, inflicting daily inconveniences, costs and indignities on people. I expect that most will shrug their shoulders, and either get the jab, or just avoid those activities. But it's right there in black and white, the mayor intends to escalate the restrictions.
You'll know that they're confident when they make access to the financial system dependent on their vaccine passports.
