Wow ... the Pentagon, the core and command of the entire U.S. military with about 23,000 military and 3,000 civilian personnel employed under a total lockdown for some shots fired at a bus stop in the area. Really makes the biden military look standing tall to get a cower in place order for almost 30,000 people for probably one person with a gun. Ooorah

The Metro is DC’s subway. I know there is a Metro Subway station at the Pentagon. They probably don’t mean a bus platform.
The metro is run by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, which includes DC, Virginia and Maryland.
This is on a bus platform near the Pentagon Metro stop.

Yes they do mean buses.
Rail is underground there. I think the buses - much like most of Metro - are available just outside with an escalator ride up.

It’s not “in the area” - it’s right there. Above-ground while the associated rail is below ground.
It’s rather easy to get to Metro stuff there.

It’s in the metro station UNDER the Pentagon. The metro runs right beneath them, and there’s a large metro station with exits up to the Pentagon.

Depends on when you left. Once upon a time, the escalator went right into the building. Now it goes up to the side for a quick screen before you enter the building and swipe your badge.
