Gwen Berry failed to medal during the women’s hammer throw finals on Tuesday. Berry finished in eleventh place out of twelve competitors, registering a distance of 71.35 meters.
The 32-year-old caused a stir during the medal ceremony at the Olympic trials in June. After winning a bronze medal during the event, Berry faced the stands rather than the American flag, holding up a shirt that read “Activist Athlete.”
Afterward, Berry said she was “pissed” that “The Star-Spangled Banner” played during the celebration.
“If you know your history, you know the full song of the national anthem,” Berry said on Black News Channel. “The third paragraph speaks to slaves in America — our blood being slain … all over the floor.”
In July, before the Olympics commenced, Berry pledged to “represent the oppressed people” should she win a medal in Tokyo, adding, “that’s been my message for the last three years.”

Concentrate on the war hammer, Gwen,
not the war “drobe”.
Hammered
They hate America, and yet they refuse to move to socialist race-equitable paradises like Cuba or Venezuela or china where they’ be much happier. Weird.
Let me be real for a second. Besides the obvious schadenfreude angle here - who really gives two craps about womens hammer throw. I mean - really?
Oh my god!!!is that her....it.😬
If I had a hammer . . . sing along everyone!
The construction trades are short of carpenters; maybe there’s a career opportunity there.
More good news out of Japan.
Moving to the dustbin of history, obscurity so richly deserved; gwen berry, hammer thrower.
It’s not ‘history’ that she doesn’t know - it’s “How to Read”.
The lyrics and their references in that third verse are clearly speaking of the invading forces.
Or, more likely, she’s just parroting some marxist drivel she saw somewhere.
Top US 1500 runner is in trouble for not taking the Vax even though he had Covid. This could get interesting.
Her makeup is straight out of a grade B horror movie with a budget of $500.
Top US thrower, Deanna Price, was over 5 meters short of the winning toss, and placed 8th.
Berry was over 7 meters short, and finished next to last out of 12 throwers. At least she can star in the next internet video of an angry woman tossing a table across a room.
👍 was thinking the same thing.
I’m just as glad she’s spit on representing our country....it’s always a good thing when they out themselves as traitors.
Maybe if she was in the “throw away the US flag” event rather than the hammer throw she would have earned a medal.
They rarely can fake it until they make it.
She was in last until the third round and then the Italian hammer thrower had a bad throw so she ended up 11/12; the other two Americans were well ahead of her, so she is a bottom feeder in every respect of the term. Ha, ha, ha!
All my life,as soon I knew what the Olympics were about...I tuned in rooting for the good old beloved USA. No more...I have not watched one second of this young American scum & vermin running wild brandishing their hated of their home country. I blame all of them, everyone of them for standing down and letting these malcontents as mouth our great country!!!
African_Americans have had their tough times in America, “The Great Melting Pot that is America”...but, so have the Irish, the Germans, the Italians, The Japanese, The Chinese, the Koreans, The Native Indians, The Indians from India, The Vietnamese....& on and on and on!!! Yet none of these folks complain...they love and honor this great country and so do millions of American African-Americans!!!
I will honor our Olympics players when the honor their country. As for African-Americans...they had eight years of Obama and he did nothing for any of them...but he took darn good care of himself. Trump was the man...but, sadly these badly informed Americans, do not have a clue!!!
Even Muhammad Ali said, 'Thank God my Granddaddy got on that boat!'
