Virginians for Safe Communities launch effort to put 'pro-criminal prosecutors on trial'
As homicides rise in Virginia's northern suburbs, voters will have the opportunity to put three liberal prosecutors backed by billionaire Democratic megadonor George Soros on trial.
A new Virginia nonprofit, Virginians for Safe Communities, is launching a campaign to recall Fairfax County's Steve Descano, Loudoun County's Buta Biberaj, and Arlington County's Parisa Dehghani-Tafti from their respective offices, the group announced in a Monday statement. The progressive attorneys took office in January 2020 after Soros spent more than $2 million supporting their campaigns. All three have since implemented lenient law enforcement policies, decisions that have coincided with a rise in crime.
Descano, for example, said in December that his office will stop seeking cash bail, which he called "unjust" and "racially biased." In the months following the decision, homicides in Fairfax County more than doubled the total seen during the same time period in 2020. In Dehghani-Tafti's Arlington, meanwhile, felony aggravated assaults rose 40 percent last year. And in Loudoun, Biberaj has faced criticism for dismissing hundreds of domestic violence cases.
"These rogue prosecutors' dangerous policies are costing lives, re-victimizing victims, and undermining the public's faith in our justice system—it ends now," Virginians for Safe Communities president Sean Kennedy said.
Descano, Biberaj, and Dehghani-Tafti did not return requests for comment.
In order to trigger a recall trial, the group must obtain petition signatures from registered voters in the officeholder's jurisdiction "equal to ten percent of the total number of votes cast" in the last election for the official being recalled. Roughly 300,000 people voted in Descano's 2019 race, meaning organizers must obtain approximately 30,000 signatures to initiate a trial.
Should Virginians for Safe Communities secure enough signatures, the prosecutors would undergo a trial by jury to determine removal from office. The decision can be appealed to the Supreme Court of Virginia.
Descano, Biberaj, and Dehghani-Tafti are far from the only Soros-backed prosecutors enacting liberal policies across the country. The billionaire has also spent millions of dollars to elect the likes of Philadelphia's Larry Krasner, St. Louis's Kim Gardner, and Chicago's Kim Foxx, who dropped charges against Jussie Smollett after the actor staged a hate crime. Homicides have surged in all three cities in recent months.
While Soros in May funneled $1 million to a group working to defund police, a spike in carjackings in Arlington County's Crystal City neighborhood declined dramatically after local police expanded their patrolling efforts.
Northern VA is hopelessly blue. Defunding the police is all 💩 s and giggles until the 💩 gets real, in their own neighborhoods. They say a conservative is a liberal who’s been mugged. Unfortunately too many of them still wouldn’t get it.

I would like to see Republicans rub the Democrat’s faces in their failed policies. Make them rue the day that they ever elected far left prosecutors and district attorneys. It needs to have a long lasting, emotional impact. Democrats need to learn the hard way that their policies and values are detrimental to society.

This was part of the Soros project to get prosecutors who wouldn’t prosecute the Big Steal. Recall these foreign agents and investigate the steal.
I can’t understand why Youngkin doesn’t drive this home in his commercials. That’s great that you got a basketball scholarship, but you should just point to all of the increased crime under Democrat rule and he might have a chance at getting elected.

About time. Virginia leftists DAs call themselves “Progressive Prosecutors of Virginia” and have about 13 members, many in southern Virginia such as the Hampton/Va.Beach areas.
Descanos is the worst Marxist prosecutor. Got about $500,000+ from Soros as did Tafti in Arlington. Crime in northern Arlington is off the charts with car-stealing and carjackings endangering safety. The gangs are made up of largely black tenneagers from Prince Georges County (corrupt, Marxist oriented shithole); DC - ruined by Mayor Bowwow Bowser and the incompetent, leftist DC City Council and its leftist DC Attorney General Racine (I love black criminals); and some black kids from northern Virginia.
Since the Wash. Post and most local No. VA papers no longer describe seen “criminals” as to age, physical details and race, you have to look at the few articles which list the ages and their home residents (by city/county) and extrapolate who they are.
The Amish are running wild in SE and NE DC, you know. They are shooting down people on the streets, yelling “Thee” and “Thou”. Then they escape in their horse buggies to their Amish housing projects where everyone looks alike.
Almost all of the crime in Alexandria City is done by blacks from the little data I can find. Some Hispanics in southern Alexandria/Fairfax County account for the rest.
For reasons of “criminal diversity”, we need to have signs asking for more “white criminals” to participate in the current crime waves, just to even things out. Otherwise the US Civil Rights Commission will send in an investigating team and hold hearings on “racial discrimination” against white criminals. Oh the horror of it all!!!
I wish what I have just written was a SARCing joke but it is deadly serious. We’ve had a black gang shootout in the yard of an elementary school, Hispanic drivers trying to kill other drivers they don’t like, or attacking at random people in stores/on the streets.
We heard of one case where the perp got a beatdown when he attacked the wrong guy, who fought back. Arlington County CA/DA Tafti will probably let the perp out on OR, if he can still walk. My advise to this guy, “Don’t fuck with a fed. You’ll lose”.
Otherwise, the biggest threat to our safety will be the Vaccine Police. I will say that Arlington County does have a good vaccination program for those who want it. Meanwhile, Alexandra City Council has voted to take the School Resource Officers (police) out of the schools. Awaiting the first death of a student or teacher by one of the “boys” who brings a gun to school and is not checked for it when coming in.
Life in No. Virginia is beginning to look like a 3rd world country. I felt safer walking down the streets of Saigon at night during the war that I do going to many formerly safe places in Arlington or Alexandria.

I agree with your sentiment. That man is evil. However, unfortunately, he has 2 sons ( I believe), who will probably continue interfering with their money, to get the results they desire.
