All the usual suspects were rounded up when star gymnast Simone Biles did her Bartleby thing and decided she would rather not.
Some of the usual suspects criticized her for not being tough enough; other suspects sympathized with her stress and that she “put mental health first.”
Of course, for me, the whole thing was another proof that women don’t like the “public square,” not one bit. It proves to me once again that the feminist conceit that women would all be CEOs and superheroes and star athletes but for the patriarchy is all a lie, including “and” and “the.”
I have been pondering this whole question of “women in the public square” ever since I first read about Georg Simmel. Over a century ago,
Simmel understood that in the short term the public sphere for women would be defined by the rules “created by men and for men” but that eventually women would transform the public square to suit “a more feminine sensibility.”The public square has indeed been transformed to suit a more feminine sensibility, but in a curious way. It has been transformed to suit a particular middle-class feminist agenda, rather than a more general feminine sensibility.
We are, I think, in the middle of a revolution where women of all kinds -- feminists, moms, non-binaries, lefties -- are pulling and tugging in all directions to demand that the world protect them and provide for their needs. Some women want to be careerists; still others want to redefine sexuality. Some are angry that women have been oppressed since the dawn of time; others just want marriage and children. They all want to be protected.

I’m sure I’m an awful sexist pig, but I think society has created a terrible situation for women. But I don’t think most women see it. They think they like where we’re going and they want to keep going further. I think it’s a road to more misery for them.
I think women should return to more a demure, feminine culture. Young women should stop dressing and acting like sluts. Consider focusing on being a good wife, good mother, and less focused on career. Men will protect women, if women allow the man to be the Protector. Competing with the man to see who can be Top Dog isn’t a good strategy.
I think a lot of people give a knee-jerk “I support feminism” response when pushed. I do not. I won’t play the word game and twist “feminism” into something positive. It isn’t. Feminism has corrupted society as well as relations between men and women. No one has really benefited from it.
Men should be men. Women should be women. Homosexuals are mentally ill and transgenders are freaks. Until society accepts these simple truths, we’re in trouble.

I agree with your post but two things have changed in the woman’s world: they want or possibly need to be in the working world and want to make about as much as men, and because of machinery women can do things that used to require manly strength such as operating heavy equipment or climbing telephone poles.
Plus many women think that that can’t rely on getting tarried and being financially supported by the husband, so They must have a workplace skill.
All women don’t think that way. We only hear about the ones that do.
The USA should just withdraw support of the Olympics since the wokie athletes have turned the Olympics into a political issue. Let the American Athletes participate as free agents.
I think it’s a road to more misery for them.
…..for all of us, we’re in trouble.
Amen.
For America there is no turning back. The logical conclusion is that masculine cultures/countries will overcome and dominate societies like ours. There really can be no other outcome.

The jist of it is women are complaining as to why men aren't really interested in dating or marriage anymore. The feminist movement destroyed dating and marriage by essentially turning women, particularly women in their 20's into demanding shrews with daddy issues.
Yeah. I do recognize that a lot of young men are not exactly prize material. But young women that I see .. holy cow. I can’t see myself chasing them. You can see the trouble coming long before it even starts.
I don't know what the private lives are of the young women who work in the hospital ER that I do but judging from the fact that they choose to become working professionals caring for and healing the sick speaks volumes to me that they would, for the most part , not be a bunch of divas.
Working 12 hour shifts doesn't leave a whole lot of leisure time I'm sure. Again I can't speak to their temperament but would imagine they're at least patient. You have to have a tremendous amount of patience working a hospital ER. Conversely you quickly learn to dispense with bs. There's no time for it. I will say that in my particular ER quite a few of these RNs are some of the most gorgeous young women I've ever laid eyes on.
