Young people are more likely to suffer heart inflammation from COVID-19 infection than they are from the vaccines, a new study finds.
Researchers from Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland, Ohio, analyzed data from COVID-19 patients and vaccine recipients aged 12 to 17.
They found heart inflammation, also known as myocarditis, after contracting the virus was six times more likely than after receiving the vaccine among teen boys, and 21 times higher among girls.
Our results suggest that, even for this high-risk subgroup [young males], the risk of myocarditis from COVID-19 infection is about 5.9 times as great, at a rate of 450 cases per million,' the research team wrote in the study, published on pre-pint serve medRxiv.
Researchers analyzed data from around 28,000 teens between ages 12 and 17 for the study.
Half of the participants contracted COVID-19, and the other half received the vaccine.

According to the CDC:
"COVID-19 adolescent hospitalization rates from COVID-NET peaked at 2.1 per 100,000 in early January 2021"
Researchers studied 14,000 teens who tested positive (with severe covid symptoms, why else would they be tested for myocarditis ?)
We don't know what percentage of teens are unaffected by covid, but it seems to be in the high 90% range.
We do know that if you get shot, you have a definite risk.
a more proper conclusion is:
As a teen your absolute risk of myocarditis is higher if you get shot because you are unlikely to get covid.
The vaxx nuts on here would say it needs to be 100 times more, and they must also die or its “rare”

My fear is that lots of inflammation going on after covid and vaccine. My guess it is a subset of people whose immune system is not able to shut off after stimulation.
Why are they mimicking a disease process with the vax? How about a vaccine made from a more innocuous coronavirus?

You added in the weasel words assuming teens with severe symptoms were the only ones tested. Then you assume 90% are unaffected thereby imposing your own error and bias on the study
I don’t think anyone under 18 should be vaccinated at this point and males 18-30 should carefully assess their risk/benefit. That said , the myocarditis with the vaccine is rare and overwhelmingly self limited. The myocarditis with the disease is not so rare but equally self limited in most cases
