Seven Bay Area counties on Monday jointly announced renewed indoor mask requirements, regardless of vaccination status, to limit spread of the highly contagious delta variant of COVID-19.
The public health offices of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara and Sonoma counties, along with the city of Berkeley, joined Sacramento, Los Angeles and Yolo counties in making masks mandatory in indoor public settings, with limited exceptions.
Those 10 counties combine for more than 19 million residents — about half of California’s total population
The Bay Area orders take effect Tuesday. There is no set end date or condition, as health officials say they will monitor local conditions.

Nobody says anything if you don’t wear a mask.
In fact, a lot of masked people seem supportive. As if they are waiting for other people to set the trend of resistance.
I walked out of the San Juan Bakery in San Juan Bautista over their demand for mask compliance.
I was polite with a smile and they were as well.
Still won’t be back.

Not that I care but if you go to a football or baseball game and you have to use the restroom do you have to put on a mask? And do the players wear a mask while in the clubhouse?
I do the same as you, and I believe it is one of the best ways to get this nonsense stopped.
The buisness is scared of the state. I get that, and I understand, but they must also understand that some will simply choose to take their buisness elsewhere.
Once this happens enough, perhaps the buisnesses will help us put pressure on the knucklehead lawmakers. Or perhaps not, the choice is theirs.
There is one buisness I know of here in Roseville CA that has stood up to CA. During this whole nonsense they have proudly invited all Americans to frequent their buisness mask or not. As well as make it coear that they do not require anyone to mask, including their workers. Good on them I say!

I’m sure he was polite. He sounds like he was quite reasonable. But the shopkeeper is still going to remember him and remember him as difficult. Shopkeepers keep tabs on customers that way.
I’m sure you are correct. But in the eyes of the shopkeeper, it was a simple request and it became difficult. You each go your separate ways is the end of it. I’m merely pointing out they are as happy about that as you are.
