I haven’t been there since the 60’s. French Quarter was a great fun place then. Unique amongst American cities, it had a quaint aire all it’s own...almost like a bawdy European city. Felt like you were in a foreign country. Great jazz musicians...Al Hirt, Pete Fountain, Louis Armstrong and countless others. But that was when America was still America. Still love the cajun/bayou/zydeco culture though in the nearby parishes.
