Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti recently signed into law an ordinance that criminalizes homelessness in most parts of the city, a motion that has drawn just as much fierce support by some as it has opposition by others.
The law specifies certain times and locations where it will be 'unlawful for a person to sit, lie, or sleep, or to store, use, maintain, or place personal property in the public right-of-way'.
The ordinance, which will go into effect 30 days from last Thursday, makes it illegal to sit, lie, sleep, or set up encampments within 500 feet from 'sensitive use' properties, which include schools, parks, libraries, overpasses, underpasses, freeway ramps, tunnels, bridges, pedestrian bridges, subways, washes, spreading grounds and active railways.

But Garcetti is trying to clean up the Skid Row homeless that actually live on the streets. They don't have money or homes.
Yes. "When seconds count, social workers are days away."
Vagrancy laws.
It’s funny to watch leftists trying to re-invent civilization.
Good luck.
I would imagine that there many in the cities who have money, or access to money, who still live in the strees.
Typical California “liberals” seem to think that passing a law fixes any problem; the law need not be enforced—or even enforceable.
The law is unconstitutional and violates the human rights of those tent dwellers occupying public lands and right ways /s
——You have no idea how much the corner “homeless” rake in-—
I do, I have considered the matter.
At a lucrative interstate exit, a man with a sign can easily collect $10 per hour. As few as 2 donors giving $5 make $10
Begging can easily produce more than working
As an interesting anecdote, A man regularly sat at the off ramp of exit 59 I 81 north.
I have also seen him at the on ramp of Va exit 72 where all the big truck stops are.just out. The spots are 100 miles apart
violators facing possible fines of up to $1,000
No problem in Ca. shoplifting is ok up to $900.00 the pawn shops are open late.
Typical CA head fake.
Nothing will ever be enforced but highly likely businesses will be fined for letting homeless camp out in front of their businesses.
The womens’ designer handbags are worth more than my old junky car.
*However*, if they have a dog with them, I will go buy it food and toys.
I’m so familiar to all the employees locally that they know to NOT accept any “returns or exchanges” of the stuff I buy for those dogs.
There was an article in the local fishwrap that said most of them were clearing 300 clams a day, at least.
I can’t even imagine that much money in one day.
Since my car is yet again needing a transmission, I considered going to a town where no one knows me and doing the same, because WTH.
However, my annoying honesty would make for a long and bizarre “Help me” sign.
I didn’t though, because honestly, I am not able to stand that long without my spine trying to kill me.
I reckon I could take a lawn chair along.
Maybe even take the dog with a sign around his neck that says “My mom has to perform Origami on me to get me into the PT Loser’s puny back seat”
:D
