ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — A day after it recorded the most new daily cases since the start of the pandemic, Florida on Sunday broke a previous record for current hospitalizations, as the number of patients in hospitals because of COVID-19 once again broke through the 1,000-person threshold.
The Sunshine State had 10,207 people hospitalized with confirmed COVID-19 cases, according to data reported to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services.
The previous record was from more than a year ago, July 23, 2020, more than a half-year before vaccinations started becoming widespread, when Florida had 10,170 hospitalizations, according to the Florida Hospital Association.
Florida is now leading the nation in per capita hospitalizations for COVID-19, as hospitals around the state report having to put emergency room visitors in beds in hallways and others document a noticeable drop in the age of patients.
In the past week, Florida has averaged 1,525 adult hospitalizations a day, and 35 daily pediatric hospitalizations. Both are the highest per capita rate in the nation, according to Jason Salemi, an associate professor of epidemiology at the University of South Florida.

Florida has over three times the population as Missouri. We're averaging around 3000 cases per day which is almost one third of Florida's cases.
Given their publicly admitted testing that cannot tell the difference between COVID-19 and the common flu, they don’t have a clue as to whether these hospitalizations are COVID related or mostly the flu.
Once again they are LYING!!@
Bttt
Empire....NO KIDDING.
For sure. Pilled up behind the Hospitals.
“From a doctor who practices at Holly Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale: 1) the ICU is filling up and 2) 99.9% are unvaccinated patients.”
BS. To even say 99.9% you’d have to have 1000 beds.
Good point. It seems like public health officials and politicized doctors forgot basic math principles.
Based on your previuos comment to me, I found this back in March:
Why ADE Hasn’t Been a Problem With COVID Vaccines
— Even with new variants, it’s unlikely antibody-dependent enhancement will be an issue

The data, per Dr. Malone, is starting to point otherwise, that ADE might be happening - he hopes he’s wrong because if he isn’t, it’s really bad news.
I am local to this town and I’m going to check it out. I got this in an email:
In Florida a credible eye witness saw federal licensed cars dropping off a bunch of illegal immigrants. A town that has very little in the way of coping with them. Maskless and probably unvaccinated (Mexican) not Cuban. Looks like they are attempting to import possible Covid cases to inflate numbers and future Democratic voters
At 630am two federal government busses stopped in front of a Mexican restaurant in the very small town of green Cove Springs Florida..
100+ illegal immigrants straight from the southern border were dropped off on the side of the road all with $100.
Green Cove Springs is a very small town no hotels and no infrastructure to take care of a hundred illegal immigrants
it is 99 degrees outside today they have no place to go it is a 30 mile walk to Jacksonville and a 25 mile walk to St Augustine
how do you think this is going to work out?
This is absolutely disgusting?! It’s also interesting that they chose to drop these illegal immigrants off in a republican County very close to the largest Democrat County in Florida
See 91.
with all of the cellphone cameras we have everywhere in today’s world why don’t we ever see pictures of all these hospitals that are busy treating all of these covid patients?...
Florida is 25th highest death rate.
Missouri is 30th.
New Jersey is #1 and NewYork is #2...followed by Rhode Island and Connecticut.
My sister-in-law lives in McDonald County just north of the Arkansas border.
Rural boondocks.
They have an amazing number of cases relative to the number of residents.
I think a lot of people get it in Branson.
How many of those children were recently vaccinated as it just opened up to them?
July hottest month of year. 9th grade earth science.
Arm yourselves against the gaslighting lying fear porn.

That’s from day one of the pandemic. What are the figures for the last month?
It’s not just the treason angle, either. What they did to these people is extraordinarily cruel. These people have no place to go, unless somebody is willing to take them in.
So, to turn America into Amerizuela (and Florida into Florizuela), they took a bunch of people who were likely trafficked into the country, their women possibly raped, among other things, and then dropped them off in various random places with little in the way of resources.
It would have probably been less cruel to send them back to their own countries or, like Trump did, to have them wait in Mexico.
