Interesting catch.

I would like to ask your take on the voluntary ideology litmus test proposal found on my home page.

___________________________________________________________________

I would like to see a VOLUNTARY idealogy litmus matrix here on Free Republic, but when I proposed it to Jimrob, he called me a newbie.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2395256/replies?c=6
To: babygene I don’t think he’s all that interested.
To: MHGinTN It doesn’t matter what a FReeper thinks. It’s just a list that they tell us what they think. That way we can tell who we’re dealing with.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2145065/posts?page=130#130
To: Jim Robinson Hah hah, that’s great. I signed up 2 months after you and I’m a newbie. Back then no one even said, ‘Welcome to FR”. But yeah, I do think that there are tons of RINOs. To be more accurate, the term would be CINOs.
I’ve been pushing for an idealogical litmus matrix here on FR, not to get rid of RINOs but to expose them.
THE GOP DOESN’T WANT US- SO WHAT’S NEXT?

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1965735/posts?page=762#762
***It simply takes too long. Look at this thread alone. I see evidence of RINOism in some of the FReepers on this thread. It takes 700 posts to drill down. We need the matrix posted and available so that we don’t have to drill down on every FReeping thread. They’re wasting our time. Deliberately.

Agreed to a large degree. Perhaps a way to rate members by other members???

Well, traditionally the party regulars vote in primaries. They can be a dedicated, almost rabid bunch. (This applies ALL of the time, not just in the age of Trump/Palin.)

They could throw their weight behind her, blowing all other contenders out the window. The others would have to resort to supporting her (a losing cause) or get nasty. Neither of those would be good for the party.

I think we can agree the media would savage her—not letting her get away with the crap that our current leadership says or does. I don’t think she could stand the onslaught and would almost certainly come up short in the general election.

The long and short of it is that we need to get candidates who don’t carry that baggage, but who have the credentials.

Do I know who those people are? Nope. I live in MA where the only votes I cast that matter are for Select Board and School Committee.

That is a fantastic synopsis. It shows how republicans and the republican party views their base of conservatives.

It is time for the conservatives to jettison the republican bullshiite party altogether. They’re just assistant democrats anyways, unipartisans.

For the record, would you please let all of us know whether or not you support these “baggage” conservatives or are you just in it to win it, even though the ‘winners’ of the elections work directly AGAINST conservative goals?

Honestly, I removed my name from the voting rolls. There is no benefit for me to vote in my State. The local folks are going to raise my property taxes no matter who is in charge.

On a state level, my vote has mattered one time-when Scott Brown won.

On a national level, my vote has NEVER mattered.

This means the only impact on being a voter in MA is that I get to go on jury duty. No thanks.

Voting is a privilege. It is not a requirement. After the debacle last year, I honestly don’t care.

Until there is a revolution (peaceful, I hope—I am too old to do much other than protect my home) there is no benefit in me being on their lists.

You are operating under the assumption that I think that Sarah’s baggage is from her “values.” I think Sarah’s baggage is from her own actions and those of her family. I think she and her spawn have been more interested in the “celebrity” of the whole circus. They are more interested in making money off of this than governing the country in any particular way.

Sarah’s baggage IS directly related to her values. If she did not have those values, the MSM would not have keyed up on her, just like they don’t key up on RINOs who have even worse family issues.

In essence, it was an outpouring of antichristian bigotry. This approach to blaming it on her family baggage is just an enablement of that bigotry. The MSM wins when that happens.

All you have to do is contrast the...Shield around...the protection grid...

The ever-active and combined deceitful misdirection against Palin (even in the underlying article and its native responses) stands on its own, of course, and is easily recognized even in the absence of contrast.

You refer to a second, closely related and equally important although opposite threat - that of censorship.

The threats are naturally quite different and call for two different reactions, two different skill-sets and two different game plans (see NFL).

Options to the MSM, such as FreeRepublic are an effective tool to combat misdirection. It also would be helpful if R politicians recognized a role, if not an obligation, to effectively respond to instances of misdirection during MSM interviews, even if off topic.

Sarah is the ONLY political candidate who could carry Trump’s anti-media torch. When the MSM keyed up on Trump, he used it for free media, knowing that negative media is media. He won the presidency as a result.

Sarah gets under the MSM skin almost as much as Trump. She just doesn’t have a $Billion in her back pocket.

And for all the IDIOTS screaming “QUITTER !” at her, it’s well worth remembering it was money that was the sole reason she was forced from office. Unlike rich, evil Demonrats, she did not have the money to defend herself personally from frivolous ethics charges filed by partisan Demonrat hacks (and unfortunately in Alaska, a Governor is personally responsible for said bills - which means unless you’re wealthy, you can be forced into bankruptcy, and she nearly was). As the sitting Governor, she had neither the time nor the money to countersue against her enemies.

If Trump hadn’t been independently wealthy, and quite so, we can see precisely what the Demonrats/GOP Derp Establishment crooks/media, et al, would’ve done to him as they did to Gov. Palin. This is what they can and will do to people of modest means who enter politics with a mind to reform it and end the epic-level bipartisan corruption. Sadly, her family was damaged and marriage destroyed because nobody else got the public scrutiny and gang raping by the evil establishment until the Trumps did. Just imagine for 5 seconds if they gave this same treatment to any Demonrat family, most of whom enjoy the special perks of protection (the Clintoons, Zero & Moochelle, Plugs the Pedophile n’ Hunter, et al).

That was 12 years ago. Her reality TV life since then is all on her.

That’s all I am saying.

That and most FR men had the hots for her. Completely understandable. It was a little gross to listen to them fawn over her like 12 year old boys.

I don’t buy that reality TV premise one bit. If she did not have conservative Christian values, there would not be nearly as much invective aimed at her and she would’ve stayed as guvner. You’re buying into the MSM bullshiite on this item, putting you right alingside the democraps.

It is times like this that I wish we would implement a voluntary conservative litmus profile as outlined on my home page.

Your memory is quite selective.

You don’t remember her family literally having a reality TV show? No one watched it. Her kids were a problem. Her ex husband would be a problem.

You can love her all you want. She is unelectable.. but that’s the last I will say about this. We will see.

“ It is times like this that I wish we would implement a voluntary conservative litmus profile as outlined on my home page.”

Is a stable family life part of the litmus test?

but added: “If God wants me to do it, I will.”

She went on to suggest that she would need more support from Christians than she got during her unsuccessful White House run.

Maybe GOD spoke a few years back. Was she listening?

“Maybe GOD spoke a few years back. Was she listening?”

Excellent point. God answers every prayer, often we just don’t like the answer.

No as a matter of fact I did not know that. I thought you were speaking allegorically.

That’s how long ago I quit cable TV. Perhaps you coulda gained with the same approach and bypass all that poisoned MSM exposure.

Either she’s popular enough to get elected [”sucks the air out of the room”] or she aint. She serves as an interesting conservative touchpoint litmus test.

Not yet.

What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Trump would score pretty low on it.

She said being Governor was too hard and made her sad.

Kind of like Simone Biles.

I hope they team up and win the I-Quit-A-Rod race.

That’s ok by me.

Not a fan of the Trump boys. Never was a big fan of Pres Trump— but certainly better than the alternatives.

We really need some new blood. Old guys and re-tread women are not really getting anyone excited except for the folks on the far edges.
