Dirtbag RINOs Thune and Cornyn Urge Trump Favorite Herschel Walker Not to Run for Some Reason When He Is a Shoo-in to Win Georgia Senate Seat

Republicans loved seeing Herschel Walker score touchdown after touchdown. They doubt he can carry them to the Senate majority.

Walker is a former NFL star and Donald Trump’s favorite to take on Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock in the Georgia Senate race next fall. But as years-old allegations about Walker’s marriage and business dealings weigh on his potential bid, Senate Republicans are raising concerns about his past in a state widely viewed as their best pickup opportunity next year.

“Some of it’s pretty bad, obviously: physical abuse and pulling a gun on his wife, if that’s true,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a former chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee who is close to Minority Leader Mitch McConnell. “I want to win that race. And to the extent that he’s handicapped by some of these things that would make that unlikely, I’d prefer to have somebody else.”

Walker’s potential candidacy offers another test case for the former president’s influence over the GOP, as Trump tries to play kingmaker in Senate races that will determine whether Republicans can win back the majority. Trump has already backed Rep. Ted Budd in North Carolina and Rep. Mo Brooks in Alabama in open primaries, breaking with the endorsements of the Senate Republicans vacating those seats.

But Walker has hesitated to enter the Georgia race despite Trump’s entreaties, and with good reason. Should Walker proceed to run, he is all but guaranteed to face questions about his personal and financial decisions. While the former football star has been open about his struggles with dissociative identity disorder, recent news reports, including a lengthy AP examination, have resurfaced past allegations from his ex-wife that he threatened to kill her. In addition, his claims about his business success are also coming under scrutiny.

Exactly. ANY MAGA guy, they dont want.

Bitch McConnell must have thrown a hissy fit when he saw the last straw poll that had Trump miles ahead of even DeSantis, and not one deep state RINO muppet for 2024 hence the Nikki Haley push..

You mean like Brian Kemp, Geoff Duncan, Brad Raffensberger, Chris Carr? Or how about the most corrupt POS in the legislature, House leader David Ralston?

Total non-sequitur.

I specifically asked what are Walker's positions on the proper role of the federal government, and on key issues. If he can't answer those questions honestly and objectively, then he has no business running for Senate.

I don't care if he's been encouraged by Trump to run or that he was a famous football player.

There are plenty of political opportunities for Walker at the state or local level.

No it won’t.

See Caitlyn Jenner in CA. She's already toast. That's why she went and did that reality show thing. Her campaign crashed and burned before it even started.

GA Christian conservatives aren't going to support a candidate who's son is an open homosexual. What if Walker's son stumps for him and talks about how his Dad will support gay rights and crap? That's a total non-starter for most of the base.

I just believe that we need Republicans who plan on running for federal office to start getting to know the Constitution again and the threat that China and commnunist Democrats pose to the country.

Let me guess: I should worry about my own effing state (WI), right?

Sorry, that line won't hunt anymore. I can comment and critique any candidate from any state. I'm sure you've complained about Collins, Murkowski, or McConnell, and they all obviously represent other states than yours.

Republicans are doomed with the Senate Republicans.

Graham, Grassley, Thune, Tillis, Cornyn, etc.

If you notice, there’s essentially no resistance to Biden.

They had peeps on TV every night calling Trump a Russian Spy and Pervert, and now the Republicans line up to support Joe’s colossal spending.

The Republican leadership wanted Merrick Garland, and they got him.

Graham said he voted for the latest Biden Boondoggle because - he wanted to get something done.

Turn out the lights.

You’re so right.

Biden handlers are trying to bankrupt the country and force holdouts to back Marxism / Communism.

You can voice your opinion all you want. I have no problem with that. I don’t take it personally.

But you don’t know how things are in Georgia anymore than I know how things are in Wisconsin.

You want to bring up his gay son. Fine.

I’ll bring up that folks in Georgia are pissed. Really pissed. They know what happened in November and January with the Senate runoffs. There are still Trump signs and flags all over the place.

Folks blame President Trump for voter turnout. It wasn’t Pres Trump that caused that. It was the Governor, Lt Gov, AG, SOS and state legislature ignoring what happened. Or should I say, we all knew that they were complicit. No way that the SOS can sign Consent Decrees without all of them knowing about it.

Georgia has one of the biggest gay populations in the country. And not all of them are liberal Dems. His son might open some doors that would otherwise stay closed.

The article does make a point that success in one area does not guarantee
success in another.
John McCain is a good example.
Was a war hero but a terrible Senator.
So there is some truth to the statement in the article.

Another thing is Walker’s son is openly homosexual. No doubt that he’ll probably stump for his Dad on the campaign trail. That’s going to turn off tons of GA voters in rural and suburban areas.

Walker's son is gay, yes, but he's also a big conservative and has biting commentary, is funny, and has quite the gift of gab. He's been able to verbally knife quite a few liberals on Twitter and I think he would be an asset, not a liability.

In spite of Thune's and Cronyn's truly weird sexual proclivities (if true), and despite the awful things they have said about minorities (which I read somewhere on the Internet), and the obvious similarities they share with Heinrich Himmler notwithstanding, I think that we should give their words some consideration.

Thune's purported desecration of the Holy Host while he served as High Priest of that underground cult was never proven - at least, any photographic evidence has since disappeared.

And the fact that graves in the cemetery near Cronyn's house keep getting dug up and the corpses removed so as to feed his strange sexual cravings - well, the court is still out on that one.

See? It works both ways.

Regards,

Hell, Lindsey Graham is gay, Tim Scott is gay.

Frank Luntz is gay, and he’s in the middle of the GOP Leadership.

Hoft’s hyperbolic headline doesn’t match the content of the article. Doesn’t make him sound like a shoo-in at all.

This article actually paints Walker in the most negative light of any article I’ve seen. Is Hoft trying to help Walker or not?

Candidate vetting is important. But it should be done in private. We live in a radically asymmetrical media environment in which Republicans will be ruthlessly hammered while Democrats will be protected. That’s a reality that has to be factored in.

There are several eminently winnable Senate seats that Republicans have thrown away in the last 20 years because we didn’t perform due diligence and nominated someone with fatal personal baggage. That’s what Thune and Cornyn are talking about.
