Tucker said the hospital disputed the reports and said they were not at capacity and the children in ICU beds were in there for respiratory illnesses, unrelated to covid.

More children are requiring ICU-level care than there are beds and staff at Children’s Mercy, Pahud said on the University of Kansas Health System’s Facebook Live.

An increase in COVID-19 cases among children.
