Simone Biles’ withdrawal from the Toyko Olympics gymnastics competition shocked the world. Biles is the undisputed greatest ever in her sport. The Texan champion accomplishes moves that no one else would ever dare, and became so proficient and so dominant that the International Olympic Committee effectively punished her for it by refusing to score her most difficult moves. Biles’ withdrawal from the team and individual all-around competitions for mental health reasons was a surprise.

and she loves her country...
From the biles ashes springs a rose of success!
It’s a shame the country she fled to is now having its own marxist revolution.
I see pj has gone corporate. Paywall.
tnx
I can see she’s hmong friends here
The article refers to Biles as the greatest gymnast ever. She may have performed the hardest skills in her time but quitters (for any reason) are not the best.
Congratulations to Suni Lee, The Best Gymnast on the US team.
Why does this say more about the quitting girl than anything else
I am very happy that Suni Lee chose to wear her red white and blue, stars and stripes themed outfit for her victorious gymnastics competition. Some of the Olympics uniforms are 98% a single color, not very supportive of USA IMHO.
I could only excerpt the first paragraph the rest is behind a paywall......
Before yesterday I had never heard of Sunisa Lee. Thought she deserved kudos and a little renown.
She did. The kids here showed me her winning performances yesterday. She’s very good.
“... International Olympic Committee effectively punished her for it by refusing to score her most difficult moves....” (of Biles)
I saw Biles performance that first day and the judges scored her properly in my opinion. She was definitely off. In the vault she was not smooth at all and her landing was the worst of any contestant, and the girl knew it, you could tell. I think she fell to 12th place in the vault event. It just wasn’t her day. All of the team are strong gymnasts and she did the right thing taking herself out.
