WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday warned Texas Governor Greg Abbott to "immediately rescind" a new executive order aimed at curbing the travel into the state of undocumented immigrants who may pose a risk of transmitting COVID-19.
"The order violates federal law in numerous respects, and Texas cannot lawfully enforce the executive order against any federal official or private parties working with the United States," Garland told Abbott in a letter.
He added that if Texas continues to implement the ground restrictions on migrants, then the Justice Department will "pursue all appropriate legal remedies."

As a Texan I “hope” Abbott tell Garland to go f’ck himself....in EXACTLY the same way the limp wristed mayor or Portland gave Trump the middle finger. If there was any time to draw a red line this is it.

FTA: 'Abbott signed the order, which states that "no person, other than a federal, state, or local law-enforcement official, shall provide ground transportation to a group of migrants" who have been detained by federal immigration officials for crossing the border.'
Essentially, migrants who have been detained by federal immigration officials are, in-fact, prisoners. The only personnel authorized to transport prisoners are "federal, state, or local law-enforcement official(s).
Policies don't negate or invalidate laws or the Constitution regarding securing our borders and or entering this country illegally.
Again, we scattered our military all over the planet for 50 years, all while we were incrementally and systematically invaded by tens of millions of criminals, right here at home.
I found myself thanking God for that during his hearings. What a twisted up little man. And he must be quite educated, but comes off as seriously dumb.

Ok Feds, if they come in and we can’t stop them, we will refuse to let them get any job, any education, any state benefit, any medical care other than emergency as well as cite them for any infraction and jail them. They may think over wanting to come. Discrimination, you bet.

Need a Convention of Free States to discuss session and the formation of a real Republic based on the original Constitution. This new union to name Trump as its President. They want insurrection give it to them.
And what remedies do the feds have against a sovereign state? The government is required by law to protect the States against foreign invaders. How is it ok for the People’s cabinet to threaten the people of the State of Texas, or any other State for that matter. This government has forgotten its responsibilities.

Basically, Garland is taking the position that Abott lacks jurisdiction over these folks because they are in his state illegally.
State’s rights.
It does not hurt to make it an issue, and force the left to explain why illegal aliens get special rights that federal workers, and citizens in general, do not. It would help if dozens of States join in on any suits. Make them take a position.
