You can usually get a "tell" what the "elites" are up to from reading their house organs.
If I connected the dots, why do you think the Biden/Obama cabal is shipping illegals all over the country? This article is the trial balloon.
They *know* their policies are on the track to be dsmn near universally reviled-thus the need for "replacement voters".

Simple question to the author: what is the point of having a country if the the franchise is expanded to *everyone*, including those who have no stake in the consequences of an election? At that point, life becomes what you can obtain by force of arms.

Once you can vote, by extension, why can’t you run and serve?

Here is a compromise offer: All aggrieved non-citizens will be allowed to leave immediately (felons can leave after they have served their criminal sentences).

There is no good reason why the NYT should continue to exist.

A country consists of citizens. People passing through are visitors.

The NYT wants this country destroyed, and all Whites eliminated after their money is confiscated.

If you’re a non-citizen, no one is keeping you here: Return to your homeland and spare us your bitching.

By the authors logic, that non-citizens are impacted by elected official choices, why restrict the franchise to residents?

We can just open up our elections to everyone around the world! After all, we impact other countries, so it’s only fair they vote for who is in charge of us.

/s in case it is not blindingly obvious.

“ At that point, life becomes what you can obtain by force of arms. ”

Well, duh…and who is now in control of all the arms? I don’t mean your personal security weapon…I mean the big fire, the stuff that can wipe out entire civilizations.

Citizenship should mean something.

If you want to vote, become a naturalized citizen.

If you prefer to keep one foot in this country and the other in your home country, then you don't get to vote here.

” what is the point of having a country if the the franchise is expanded to *everyone*, including those who have no stake in the consequences of an election?”

It’s analogous to public housing.

Give someone free or subsidized housing and look what they do to it.

Why vote at all, if non citizens can vote? Doesn’t this greatly reduce the value of citizenship is non citizens vote, as they do not have the same concerns in governance and life as legal citizens? And if being a citizen is diminished so much, why do the Democrats want to import aliens to replace the current citizen voters?

The answer is that the take over of the US, and the establishment of a totalitarian “one party” state is ongoing. Non citizens will vote so that no one needs to vote, as the Democratic Fascists will take care of total control of all our lives. Think of the time and money saved by eliminating all elections, the Democrat’s ultimate goal.

Because as a non citizen you really only have a superficial stake in the success or failure of the country. A citizen, whose home is rooted in this land essentially must live with the consequences of their political decisions. A non citizen is like a tourist, they enjoy the sunshine, good times and prosperity but can always head back home when the storms blow in and things get tough.

There actually IS a good reason not to allow non- citizens to vote. It is so that there is at least a minimum stake that people who are voting on the future of this country actually have in the country and it’s future well-being. Either they were born here and have natural stake in the future of this country, or they have come here - and abide by our laws all along the way - and decided to learn about how our country is governed, learn about and adopt much of our cultural mores, and raise their children to be good and productive citizens. This has happened literally hundreds of millions of times in our history up to the present day, and while it is not a perfect system it does seem to be working out quite well (as evidence of that, there are over a million people a year coming here, and that is unchanged fir well over a century).

On the other hand, when you start allowing people with no stake in our society - presently or in the future - to vote themselves anything they want from the public treasury, and vote for people who will make it easier for them, then they will do exactly that. They have no stake in our society, and no clue or concern about the longer-term consequences of such actions. Citizens are invested in this country one way or the other, and DO care about the longer term future of the country.

I would whole-heartily support a politician who came out in support of limiting the franchise to male land-owners who are the head of a household.

I think you ought to be a taxpayer and a citizen and a property owner. Because that means you really have skin in the game and are not just drawing a paycheck for picking your nose.

My niece was born in the United States and was not allowed to vote in 2020. Voter suppression! The fact that she was only 4 years old is not a good reason.

I've been to about 25 other countries and it has never occurred to me to demand the right to vote in any of them.
