In 1969, my dad had his hip/leg shattered from the socket to 6 inches above his knee.

The doctors gave him percocet for the pain. After a couple years he made the decision to quit them because he knew it was causing him more problems than the pain.

He took aspirin instead but that was like putting a bandaid on a gaping wound.

But he refused any opioids until he died in 1990

Well, it does say he died peacefully in his sleep.

Seeing that more and more, these days :-(

Well I don’t want to speculate, could have been a heart attack.

My understanding is that Billy is a health nut, you can tell because he still has a lot of energy on stage. Dusty had health problems throughout the years, especially a bout with Hep C in the early 2000s.

Yep, one of those shows was definitely with Wishbone Ash.

On jeez. Captain Beyond. There’s a blast from the past. I was listening to my old album of them a couple of months ago.

My wife and I went to see ZZ Top at the Summit in Houston.
New Year’s Eve 1999. Opening band was Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Awesome show.

Nice! Yea, we had a bonus...ZZ TOP and Bad Co. with Led Zepplin experience and Cheap trick.

Man, I’m so glad I got to see them before this happened.

We went to a Peter Frampton show a few months after that one...it was good as well.
