Thanks for the very clear explanation, RW. I jumped to bad conclusions without doing any background research. I hate it when people do that!

This was a GENERAL election. The Democrats were locked out because they LOST the primary.

How does it feel to be a moron played by the media?
To: aquila48
Thanks. Republican Wildcat explained it very well in #73.

This is not an indictment of Trump or his endorsement. Trump’s help can only go so far if his candidate is outspent, out-worked, and out-campaigned.

He is not a never Trumper. Both were pro Trump and advocates, so both claim, of the MAGA agenda. DEMONRATS voted for the non Trump endorsed candidate simply because the other candidate was endorsed by Trump and they wanted a propaganda victory, which will prove pyrrihc at best for them.If the winner does prove to be a solid conservative, the Dumb-O-Crats will be victims of their own sheer spite.

6% is a lot. I’m not sure crossover voting accounts for 6%
To: Hojczyk
democrat turnout was down. Republican turnout was marginally up. It was independents that turned out for trump, and, as I said, I’m not sure independents turn out for republican primaries.

Good point.

Bingo. It doesn’t.
Far fewer voted in the General (38000) than voted in the Primary (78000).
The combined GOP Vote from the Primary was far more than the total vote in the general.
There may have been *SOME* crossover votes, but it isn’t anything like what the media is saying. Ellzey has a very conservative voting record.
Democrat clowns aren’t going to bother coming out to vote for him.
To: Republican Wildcat
Excellent point - something the never Trumpers would never point out.
Still a lot of republican must have voted for the Rino.

You are just 60 miles south of me. I live up here in fly over land, literally. The Air Base is about a mile down the road.

That would be great. From your lips to G*d’s ears.
To: Alter Kaker
Ellzey got 53% of the vote, while Susan Wright, a longtime GOP activist, received 47%.
When the numbers are that close don’t they normally do a recount?.

What voting machines were used?
The same ones that were used when Trump won Texas last year.

Maybe the person they wanted to win, won. At any rate the people got who they wanted. So no bitching or crying when he shows his true colors.

Question everything when it comes to elections.

6% difference is close? Recounts usually require the margin being not more than 0.5%, so the margin here was 12 times higher than the normal threshold.
