Kevmo: “***This points out the folly of the approach.
It should be independent of who is president at the time.”
So should our immigration policies,
***Here we go again, with you and your fallacies. Now it’s time for the Red Herring. Look! a Squirrel!
but surprise!
***It is the extremely rare red herring squirrel!
it turns out who occupies the White House has a huge effect on policies’ execution.
***Which is MY point, long before we had a commie-pacifist libtard as president. NOT your point. MY point.
Nonsense, I again addressed your point exactly, your point was that our government's policies should be based on such things as treaties, laws & agreements, not on which political party is in charge at any particular time, right?
I merely explained that US presidents are given a lot of discretion in executing the laws, and I pointed to our immigration laws as an example -- not a "red herring", but on-point exactly.
In the case of Taiwan specifically, our laws & treaties require us to help in Taiwan's defense, but they also provide the President with latitude in how we help, and how much help we give.

NOT your point. MY point."
No, no, FRiend, your point is you want us to kowtow to the Chi-Coms, kiss their rears and make nicey-nice with them while they invade and genocide the Taiwanese, right?
I'm saying you should be the one to go and explain to your Chi-Coms how nicey-nice we're going to be while they murder millions of Taiwanese.
Would you do that for us, please?
Let us know what they say.
