P made a poor political decision to challenge a true trump supporting america first AG like saxon

P pushed trump into a corner.

P should have made a run for congress. He could have had a trump endorsement in the general & had a couple 2 year terms in the house to prove himself

He wants an executive position. It runs in the family.

I might support P down the road if he were to write a opinion piece criticizing W. Otherwise no.

Paxton is a better, more conservative, candidate.

Smart comment!
Wondering why he didn’t do that obvious thing and can come up with nothing.

There was never any chance of that.

Yes. They want an executive position so they can do more damage.

They know exactly what they’re doing (Bushes) and an executive position offers more opportunities for an America Last agenda.

Don’t be fooled by his “support” for Trump. It’s an act just like W. pretended to be a conservative but ended up growing the size of government more than any Democrat !

I didn’t think there was any chance he would endorse McCain and Romney and he did.

The Bush/Cheney political family makes decisions together strategically. Loyalty was 41’s most important trait in people. There is no way P wasn’t acting on orders from the family, and if not, he should have publicly repudiated his family for all their negativity about Trump.

Bah. He was doing what he thought would help him get elected and the family recognized that. No need for orders or repudiations. It's just politics.

Politics is when the Bush & Clinton families unite to build a political elite that uses intel agencies to take down any unapproved outsiders.

The Kennedys were tightly disciplined and worked together as a team. The Bushes are looser. They help each other out, but I don’t see anybody in the family driving them ahead as a united team, not since Poppy died anyway.

Trump is close with Paxton.

McCain and Romney’s challengers in 2016 and 2018 were weak and unfortunately if Trump had endorsed their opponents (in 2016 before he was President and 2018 in Utah were the Mormons never liked him) it wouldn’t have mattered.

I agree though he still shouldn’t have endorsed them, especially not GD Romney. He should have appointed him to something (even having him as SOS would have been worth it to keep him out of the Senate, he couldn’t have been worse than Tillerson) and then fired him as soon as the filing deadline in Utah passed.
