Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) recently issued a letter to Biden Administration Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding the release of 14,000 hours of footage from January 6 that the Department of Justice possesses, as well as demanding answers on the torturous conditions in which the detainees are being held. The letter was signed by Reps. Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, and Marjorie Taylor Green. They will all be holding a press conference tomorrow outside the Justice Department demanding answers about the treatment of Jan. 6th prisoners.

As new videos from January 6 continue to emerge following plea deals and extensive prison sentences for Capitol detainees, Congressman Paul Gosar has suggested that the Justice Department is hiding video footage that could potentially exonerate some of those accused of crimes on that day. “The DOJ is obligated to release all the evidence that could exonerate or explain who did what,” tweeted Congressman Gosar.

After issuing a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland demanding the release of 14,000 hours of footage from January 6, as well as answers on reports of detainees being tortured, a press conference held by Reps. Gosar, Matt Gaetz, Louie Gohmert, and Marjorie Taylor Greene has been set for tomorrow. The press conference, dubbed “Demanding Answers on Treatment of January 6th Prisoners,” will be held at 1 p.m. outside of the Department of Justice.

One thing I have not understood is how/why defense attorney’s are pleading people out before they see all of the discovery.

The government has to turn over all of the discovery. That would include the video of 1/6 if it shows the defendants.

During an interview with NBC News, Putin said Russia was no worse than the United States in this regard, and used the government's handling of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot as an example.

Putin showed flashes of defiance when he was asked whether it was a "coincidence" that several other political rivals had been assassinated in recent years.

"We don't have this kind of habit, of assassinating anybody," Putin said when he was asked whether he ordered Navalny killed. (NBC News)

He then countered by asking whether the U.S. was guilty of assassinating Ashli Babbitt during the Capitol riot.

“Secondly, I want to ask you: Did you order the assassination of the woman who walked into the Congress and who was shot and killed by a policeman?” Putin said. “Do you know that 450 individuals were arrested after entering Congress? And they didn’t go there to steal a laptop. They came with political demands. 450 people have been detained. They’re facing jail time, from 15 to 20 years. And they came to Congress with political demands. Isn’t that persecution for political opinions?”

These were people who burned cars, broke windows, destroyed property everywhere in the Capitol including federal buildings.

Nothing happened to them. And they were all bonded out very early on.

Because the feds are letting them plead down to misdemeanors like trespassing. For someone locked up in solitary confinement, an offer like "hey, you can walk out a free man if you just plead to trespassing" sounds pretty appealing. Of course, they have already served 6 months in the gulag for misdemeanor trespassing. Locked up with no bail for 6 months for protesting. It's a travesty of justice. For the people who committed actual crimes, destroyed property, assaulted police, etc, I have no problem prosecuting them, but even they are entitled to bail and a fair trial.
