So they rushed out an assay in February 2020 because of the urgency of the blossoming pandemic.
Since they rushed it out it only detected Covid-19 and wasn't intended to be a broad test identifying multiple pathogens.
??? I think you have it backwards. No one was using it as a broad test. They were using it to test for Covid-19 and it was picking up influenza as well. That's a big problem, right? The kind of problem described in the title of the article:
