Austin-Travis County recommends masks, moves to Stage 4 of COVID rules

Austin-Travis County's top health authority on Friday requested that residents return to wearing masks as the area moved back into Stage 4 coronavirus guidelines, a sign of worsening pandemic conditions in Central Texas due to the presence of a highly contagious variant known as delta.

Dr. Desmar Walkes, Austin-Travis County's health authority, announced the stricter recommendations after the weekly average of daily hospital admissions reached 35 Thursday night, the highest it had been since late February.

"In just five months, we have evidenced four new variants of this virus," Walkes, who was joined by five other local doctors during a public briefing, said Friday. "And the last week's data shows the delta variant is more severe and deadly than its predecessors."

Walkes on Friday said she's now recommending that fully vaccinated people again wear masks in any situation where social distancing cannot occur. Those situations include shopping, dining, traveling and sporting events.

Unvaccinated or partially vaccinated residents should no longer gather in groups at all and only shop, dine and travel when essential, the Austin Public Health guidelines say. They should also continue to wear masks in public spaces, especially indoors.

Children older than 2 should also be wearing masks

I know some folks who just flew back from France......which, of course, takes many hours

Everyone on the plane, even fully vaccinated, had to be ‘deep sinus’ tested for Covid before they boarded.....and ALL passed!

And yet the mask mandate was brutally inforced!

From what I hear, last week, there were 18 thousand Parisians in the streets protesting Macron’s new draconian edicts beginning first of August,

“And the last week’s data shows the delta variant is more severe and deadly than its predecessors.”
**********************************
That’s a lie. All previous reports I’ve read indicate the Delta variant is more easily contacted but it was not nearly as harmful or deadly as the original strain.

I have kin in the Austin suburbs, so I hope they stay out of the city cesspool.

....Friday, my Granddaughter (25) tested positive. She’s now in bed with a fever. She just got the first jab last week, as she thought she was bullet-proof.

I am right there with what you are saying - to say otherwise is akin to GASLIGHTING - breakouts of cases are associated with the resettlements of illegals in communities around the country. Those in charge are a disgrace to the nation — and we are paying them to protect us - that makes it all a very sad joke on us and the USA.

They are always attached to some moisture molecule — and those are larger than the aperture.

A virus is huge compared to a molecule.

No. I said moisture for a reason, not water.

The virus transport is generally aerosol. Size will be micron+. Micron is 10^-6 meters. Nanometer is 10^-9.

This is not rocket science. The mask stops some particles. If it did not they would never be worn by docs in hospitals.

So they are saying that the vaccine doesn’t work. Get your mask back on, because it does work...

"Can I just say I told you so?" Hodge said. "You know, it's so frustrating when our officials don't listen. It's bad enough that they don't listen to the experts in the field, but it's worse when they don't listen to those on the ground and in the trenches dealing with this every day."

(see my tagline)

Anyone who still pays the least bit of attention to what any of these so-called “experts” says is a lost cause.

Really?

How long does the “moisture molecule” to which a virus is “always attached”, take to evaporate? A “moisture molecule” in the Texas summer? A “moisture molecule” in bone-dry winter air in Minnesota?

And they’re “larger than the aperture”, eh? Must be some hefty molecules.

What you said was they are always attached to some moisture molecule — and those are larger than the aperture.

moisture molecule

And you are wrong. A molecule is much smaller then a virus. Bye.
