Turning Point USA rightly kicked "Conservative Porn Star" Brandi Love out of its conference on Saturday, July 17 in Tampa, Florida. The mere suggestion that a woman who makes her living by posting pictures of her vulva and anus online to titillate men is somehow "conservative" is a joke.
The porn industry is a poison to our society and culture. It is the primary reason our culture is crumbling. The foundation of conservatism is morality. John Adams, observed, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People." Our Founding Fathers would not have just removed this woman; they would have thrown her in jail.
Conservatives have fought for decades to rein in the pornography epidemic that has infested our culture, only to have our efforts overturned by leftist judges. In 1985, President Ronald Reagan (Father of Modern Conservatism) set up a commission to study the detrimental effects pornography had on the American public.
The findings of the commission were as follows: children and adolescents who participate in the production of pornography experience adverse enduring effects, prolonged use of pornography increases beliefs that less common sexual practices are more common, pornography that portrays sexual aggression as pleasurable for the victim increases the acceptance of the use of coercion in sexual relations, acceptance of coercive sexuality appears to be related to sexual aggression in laboratory studies measuring short-term effects, and exposure to violent pornography increases punitive behavior toward women.
Reagan's Surgeon General, Everett Koop concluded, "Although the evidence may be slim, we nevertheless know enough to conclude that pornography does present a clear and present danger to American public health."
As a conservative woman, I am appalled by conservatives defending this woman.

There is no viable conservative movement, beyond reading books and writing letters. It’s zenith was the end of Reagan’s presidency, the collapse coming with the election of Bush #41.
Reagan believed in a big tent. Most of these “stars” are amateurs hawking their images on Onlyfans. They produce a product that consumers purchase voluntarily and benefit from zero government subsidies. They are entepreneurs and many share the economic values of the party.
Of course it is not a business that any of us want our children to enter, nor do I find it necessary to purchase the product. But that is true of many professions.
She may be a fiscal Conservative. She doesn’t need to the “lifted up” as an example of morality, she just needs to stop those who are destroying the country. If you think she is among those destroying the country I would suggest you consider why someone like that can make so much money when “everyone” thinks her work is sinful. You can certainly argue she is exploiting an immoral people but casting all the blame on the porn “star” may be missing the point. I’ll stress again, no need to make her the voice of Conservatism.

I’m not sure what I think of this. I agree with the idea of the big tent, and wanting support from as many as we can get, to win elections and affect public policy towards conservative values.
Does having support from someone in a sex business mean that we endorse that particular business? That’s something I’m not quite sure about. I look forward to comments from others to help clarify what we are talking about here.

Like many, I have fought the fight in my own county, for my own children.....
....in the early 90’s in our close conservative community, Planned Parenthood tried to enter our schools with their version of Sex Ed....
....parents, teachers, businesses fought tooth and nail!
We won an Abstinence Only curriculum
But that was then.....evil doesn’t rest.....
Soon after, an abortion facility came to town....
We fought that too!
The Republican Party is SUPPOSE to have integrity and decency and values.....

The article from the other day on this suggested that this was an event aimed at high schoolers. Was that not accurate? Because, if true, it seems pretty obvious to me that regardless of what one thinks about the “conservativeness” of a porn star, it’s inappropriate for a porn star to be there meeting people/talking/whatever.
Like I said in the other thread,there is nothing like a conservative porn star.
Being a porn star is the exact opposite of what a conservative is.

OK, we can accept “porn stars” or Gays in this big tent, as long as they don’t tout their porn star credentials publicly.
Talk about conservatism and limited government but leave your sexual preferences out of your speeches.

True, but we don’t need to attack them gratuitously either. When they come on the screen we can change the channel. We can decline to read their blogs or buy their books. We only want them to keep it out of our faces.
