Trump attacks Republican who has criticized Arizona audit

Former President Trump attacked Arizona state Sen. Paul Boyer (R) in his latest broadside against Republicans in the state who are pushing against a partisan election audit.

Trump labeled Boyer, who told The Hill in May he was “embarrassed” by the audit after supporting the process, a “RINO,” or Republican In Name Only, and touted his primary challenger.

“Boyer has been nothing but trouble, and nobody knows why. All we demand is Voter Integrity! He is being primaried by a strong and highly respected challenger, former Arizona State Representative Anthony Kern,” Trump said in a statement.

Boyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment from The Hill but fired back in a tweet, mocking his election fraud claims and accusing him of fueling the Jan. 6 insurrection.

"Had Trump built the wall like he promised, perhaps he could’ve prevented the 40k #BambooBallots from being imported into Arizona. And if he hadn’t started an insurrection in D.C. and gotten kicked off here, I could’ve responded directly to him. So there’s that," he tweeted.

Republicans in the Arizona state Senate launched the audit after Trump raised unsubstantiated allegations that fraud and irregularities led him to lose the state.

No evidence has emerged to suggest widespread misconduct marred the November presidential election. Biden won the state by more than 10,000 votes in 2020, marking the first time a Democratic presidential candidate has won Arizona since 1996.

The audit is focused on Maricopa County, Arizona’s largest county and the home of Phoenix. Biden won it by more than 2 percentage points in November.

Trump’s latest invective underscores his animosity toward Republicans who have opposed his election fraud claims.

Boyer has railed against the audit for months, telling The New York Times in May that “It makes us look like idiots.”

“Looking back, I didn’t think it would be this ridiculous. It’s embarrassing to be a state senator at this point,” he said.

While Boyer is correct in pointing out the lack of evidence to support Trump’s claims, his criticism could come with a cost. While the former president did not outright endorse his primary opponent, Trump already has backed several challengers to sitting Republicans who have crossed him.

President Trump has a long history of working with private investigators.

Paul Boyer has acted very suspiciously

Perhaps we will find out why shortly

He’s a Never Trumper.

Two efforts to recall Paul Boyer, a member of the Republican Party, from his elected position representing District 20 in the Arizona State Senate were launched in 2021. Supporters of both recalls had to collect 25,199 signatures to require a recall election.

The first recall started on February 11, 2021. Signatures for the recall were due June 11, 2021. Recall supporters criticized Boyer over violating his oath of office. No signatures were filed with the secretary of state’s office by the deadline.[1]

The second recall effort began on February 19, 2021. Signatures for the recall were due June 19, 2021. Recall supporters criticized Boyer over violating his oath of office, and over not representing the interests of his constituents and the state Republican Party. No signatures were filed with the secretary of state’s office by the deadline.[2]

Boyer was elected to the state Senate in 2018. He was re-elected in 2020 with 52.3% of the vote.

“Boyer has been nothing but trouble, and nobody knows why."

I think what President Trump is saying, is that he knows why.

After he loses, I'm sure Boyer would have no trouble finding a top-flight job in either the food service or housekeeping industries.

President Trump need not be careful anymore.

He's a civilian to them and there's nothing they can do about what he says about anyone.

Be sure your sin will find you out.

We wouldn’t be reading an article like this in the mainstream press if Trump wasn’t scaring the shiite out these RINOs.

I have been following the audit in Maricopa County, I live here. The local MSM has 24/7 ridiculed it. The local ‘news’ is a joke, it’s obvious what they are doing. Local ‘news’ radio is sounding desperate in their attempt to derail the findings. One talk show that I force myself to monitor, is still doing the ridicule thing of the audit....but the smarter of the duo is increasingly cringing at what he signed on to do. Getting interesting. My $$$$$$$ has always been on PDJT.

A lot of people are going to be ruined after the results of the audit come out.

Con’t understand the media on this one

Polls show over 55% of the population already admits they believe the election was stolen and the anti audit , Trump Big Lie media propaganda blitz is not changing any opinions. If anything more and more people are convinced the election was stolen,

There is no way they can walk this back and they just seem to be trying to brazen out their lies
