Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...we have rain, actual rain, at least for an hour so far, and 2/10s in the gauge. We’ll take it, and hope it keeps up for more hours.
You and Penny getting out? Doggie cookies at the bank?
Howdy, luvie.
We never forget!
Hope your day was good. Did it stay overcast and keep your temps civil?
Good evening, Biggirl...we made it through hump day...hurrah for us!
Good evening, Theophilous Meatyard III...did you chase the Russians from a US sub? Or a surface ship?
Hey there, radu!
We sure don’t forget them! We must not let anyone else do so either!
It was very nice here. I guess it got up to about 87 with partly cloudy skies and a lovely breeze. Hope you had some “nice” too!
Hey there, luvie...we will never forget!!
And so far today we have 3.5/10ths of rain.
Wow! That’s great! I know it’s not inches and inches, but it all adds up in the long run! Is it still raining [I hope]?
Good evening, radu...rain has made it to my side of town. I just checked the gauge a few minutes ago and we are almost to 4/10th. And they say rain should be tapering off in the next few hours.
We will take it. Has your dry spell started?
One of us had some nice weather at least. Not very nice here at all. Had a little shower this afternoon with the sun coming out afterwards to turn it into another sauna.
Smokey here, too, and that’s going to increase the next couple of days. The moon is orange tonight.
The heat index this weekend will be 100 to 105, they say.
It’s the dead of summer and it’s letting us know that. LOL
We’ve had hotter summers so I can’t complain ... much. :-)
Glad you’ve been getting some rain today. It’s coming down at a pretty good clip at the airport at the moment. Good soaking rain.
I guess our dry spell has started now. The front has finally moved south and the skies are clear now, sort of. We can see the moon but not any stars due to the smoke haze. We can smell the smoke too. Yuck.
I’m sorry you’re having to deal with the smoke from those fires from far away. We’ve been through that in years past with smoke from fires in Mexico. It’s oppressive for sure. Is the heat index so high because of the smoke holding the heat down? Or just the sauna.
I’m glad we had one more nice one. I just know the other shoe will drop at some point. After all, it doesn’t cool down till October around here...or probably there, too.
The jet stream is carrying a lot of the smoke from out west up into Canada and combining it with smoke from their wild fires, then dragging it all down here. The front that’s been stalled over us the past few days helped hold it off of our area. Now it has moved on and the smoke has moved in.
Another front is supposed to come through Sunday or Monday and should help clear things out.
The heat index is due to humidity and is how hot it feels to us. Our sweat won’t evaporate much to cool us off so it feels hotter than the actual temperature. Plants don’t feel it. People and animals do.
Our temps will be in the mid 90s this weekend but the humidity will make it feel like 100 or more.
This afternoon was only 83 but it felt a lot hotter than that when I went to the grocery store. It was a looooong walk across the parking lot. LOL
Can you smell the smoke or just see it and see how it makes it hazy? That’s not going to do your or Bella’s allergies any good, that’s for sure! On top of the lovely cotton. Ugh
How's everyone doing this morning?
We can see the smoke quiet well and can smell it a little. I imagine the smell will be stronger the next few days.
It already bothers my sinuses but so far Bella’s asthma hasn’t kicked up. We’ll see if that holds. A couple of the windows aren’t exactly air-tight and a little could get into the house before it’s all over with.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
Did Gizmo drag you all over creation again yesterday? :-)
