“The common good”
When I hear that it triggers thoughts that we need to be prepared to remove the common.
It’s like “public housing ownership” - if everyone owns it, nobody owns it and it gets trashed.
So “the common good” - if it’s good for everyone, it’s good for none and rights get trashed.
Actually the common good is a solid and valuable principle when it is applied correctly.
“Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity and happiness of the people; and not for the profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men.”

Liberals on the other hand want to believe the common good is instituted for the government.
