LONDON (AP) — The British government has decided not to inoculate most children and teenagers against COVID-19 until more data on the available vaccines becomes available.
Children as young as 12 with severe neuro-disabilities, Down syndrome, immunosuppression and multiple or severe learning disabilities, as well as those who are household contacts of individuals who are immunosuppressed, will be eligible for vaccination, the government said Monday.
The decision to hold off giving shots to most people under age 18 was based on the recommendation of an expert advisory panel. The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunization said the health benefits of universal vaccination don't outweigh the risks for most young people, who typically suffer only mild symptoms of the virus.
Aside from medical and scientific questions surrounding the use of COVID-19 vaccines by adolescents, many public health experts have raised questions about the morality of inoculating low-risk children at a time when many of the world's most vulnerable people still lack access to vaccines.
Professor Andrew Pollard, who was instrumental in developing the AstraZeneca vaccine, told Parliament's science and technology committee last month that vulnerable adults elsewhere should be prioritized over children.
"It is older adults, those with other health conditions, and health care workers who are looking after them, who absolutely have to be prioritized," he said.

A good first step.
Next remove any requirement for healthy people over 18 to about 70 to be vaccinated. If these people want to be vaccinated, they can decide if they want the vaccine, not some damn bureaucrat.
A goid development in part because it allows two parents in family court to disagree about subjecting their minor children to the Clot shots without the pro parent getting away scot free with a like-minded judge branding the con parent as crazy.

I recommend the shot but not to kids. Over 30 would be my recommendation.
The stats say that if you are under 30, you have little to no chance of being seriously affected by Covid.

Hope not, the EU Vaers system is reporting 18,000 deaths from the jab but are maintaining it is an acceptable risk/ reward.

Huh? Do you not realize the average age of dying OF Covid is officially 72 years old? Under 65 has a 99.9 percent survival rate, sheesh….
I’ve seen a healthy 42 yo die in last 24 hours. That’s my recommendation but would never mandate it or support requiring it.

Sorry, my deaths by jab are low, they have increased much in the last week.EU, now reports 20,000 dead from the jab, and the US is at 11,400…..for the vaxers, are these still acceptable risk/ reward numbers?
….I will not mention the 450,000 reported side effects….I expect all categories to increase exponentially as t8me marches on.
