Um, you do know that they already have hypersonic missiles on the world arms market, just not ones this fast, right?
The Russians partnered up with the Indians to make the BrahMos I missiles. They go Mach 3 and are the fastest cruise missiles in service anywhere, verified by Western observers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BrahMos
They are both working on a successor missile, the BrahMos2 - top speed is to be Mach 8. This will also likely be confirmed by Western observers when it is deployed later this decade.

They already have had Mach 7 test articles fly, again with Western verification.
We spend 5 times as much on our military, but we may be spending most of it on waste and LGBTQ programs and ‘tolerance and diversity’. We recently cancelled and removed the anti-torpedo torpedo launchers from our carriers because they turned out not to work. We don’t have countermeasures for supercavitating torpedoes, and our defense industry can’t even make one for us. Those have been on the world arms market for decades and they are absolutely what they say on the tin per independent evaluations. The list goes on and on.
Just because we spend more money doesn’t mean we’re spending it on the right things.
I would add S-500 the field mobile anti-ballistic system was tested successfully against a ballistic targets. It is a mobile ABM which also kind of unique.

Yep, that’s the point of my sarcastic post. I’m just regurgitating crap I’ve heard here in the recent past: “Oh nothing to worry about regarding Russia or China, since we spend more than both of them combined”. Be interesting to see what their salaries and procurement costs are compared to ours...might just flip things around a bit. Not to mention that neither country is known as being a paragon of transparency when it comes to government expenditures.
In fact, considering the way the Weegars are being treated by China, including forced sterilization, I’m starting to suspect that China simply doesn’t see a need for other cultures even existing on the planet, and their long-term goal is to simply eradicate them. And meanwhile we keep telling ourselves that there’s nothing to worry about, since China’s a backward, Third World, country. Most people who have been there in the past 20 years might think.differently, though.
