How would they land them in Japan?

I would expect they'd land on Japan similar to the Allied invasion of German occupied Europe, i.e., D-Day ... Normandy. Many ships, landing craft, aircraft and parachuted troops would be used to invade Japan.

Japan is roughly 100 times further from China than the D-Day beaches were from England. The UK and US had hundreds of years of naval experience and dozens of prior amphibious landings in the prior 2-3 years between them. Germany had no air force or navy to speak of, and not one single ally to help them fight off our invasion that used thousands of ships and tens of thousands of aircraft.

There is no comparison whatsoever. The new Chinese Navy in 2221 will likely get to see the old Chinese Navy from the early 21st Century just by building glass bottoms on their ships.
