Poor Colorado Governor Jared Polis (D-California) just can’t catch a break.
That’s mostly because he’s an incompetent, grasping boob — but who would have thought even he could screw up a multimillion-dollar giveaway to get people vaccinated?
The number of weekly vaccinations in Colorado dropped by more than two-thirds between the start and end of the state’s vaccine lottery, following nearly the same trajectory set in the weeks before Gov. Jared Polis announced the $1 million drawings.
Plus: “In the week ending July 4 — the last with data on the state’s vaccine dashboard — only about 49,000 people got a shot.”
Imagine a lottery with an astoundingly good 1:49,000 chance of winning a million dollars…
…and now imagine that even those odds didn’t move the needle on vaccination rates.
That’s because Polis’ Colorado state government and our Permanent Panic Class in the Washington/New York/Hollywood Axis have totally broken the public trust.
People would be less fretful of getting vaccinated if the people most insisting that they get vaccinated hadn’t spent the last 18 months lying about virtually everything else.
As Insanity Wrap has written so many times we ought to make it a keyboard shortcut, there are two ways to gain immunity: Get vaccinated or get the virus.
If you aren’t in a risk group, the virus is usually no big deal.

The odds of getting a bad reaction to the vaccine may be higher than the odds of winning the lottery,
In other words, your Expected Value of payoff is $200. The remaining people who are not vaccinated will not accept a $200 payment to get the shot.
The first 2/3 of the population who got the shot were satisfied to get some immunity to the disease together with some unknown risk of injury or death from the vaccine.
The last 1/3 of the population do not get sufficient utility from some immunity to the disease AND $200 to offset the risk of injury or death.
The federal, state, and local government lie constantly to Americans and now these incompetent fools in government wonder why nobody sane trusts them.
IMHO, part of the problem in Colorado is Polis presents himself as being libertarian. So what fans he has aren’t liable to be the kind of people who like to have a government official tell them what the should do or not do with their bodies.
I don’t want a promise of a Qua-billion Buck$, show me the real money.
CO ping for Polis’ failed Covid lottery
“Washington/New York/Hollywood Axis have totally broken the public trust”!
Bingo, that about says it all.
Does anyone truly believe and trust any damned thing coming out of the FBI or The whole federal government?
HOw about Hollywood which is pushing the LGBT etc agenda up everyone wazoo Ad nauseam
Then of course N.Y., under this jive ass punk of a Mayor it is dreadful.
Trust? Joe Biden and his criminal clan? Get real.
The Illinois lottery vax game was supposed tp cover all Illinois residents who were already vaxxed as well as new ones after the announcement. Is that the same for Colorado, or was it just the 49K who got vaxxed during the one week?
No clue and no vax. 😀
No clue and no vax. 😀
Wait wait wait...
It was supposed to be the red states where vaccinations were low. What’s up, Guv?
“Government officials” and “experts” are folks who p&^% on you and tell you it is raining.
I ignore all of them...
Data shows a decline in vaccinations, but experts say it doesn’t tell the whole story
Colorado mom Heidi Russell was the final $1 million winner of the Colorado Comeback Cash vaccine lottery. Statewide data shows the lottery may have had little effect on getting hesitant Coloradans immunized, but experts say it doesn’t tell the whole story.

DENVER — Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced the final winner of the Colorado Comeback Cash vaccine lottery on Wednesday after five drawings and $5,000,000 distributed.
The winner was Colorado mom Heidi Russell, who said she would use the money on her four children and to pay off student debt.
Colorado Ping ( Let me know if you wish to be added or removed from the list.)
If there are five one-million-dollar drawings, don’t the odds simply improve to 5/49,000? Nothing is simple to me in the world of probability.
Rigged? Absolutely. Does anyone think for even a moment that the State of Colorado would select a winner that had died or was dying from an adverse reaction to the experimental treatment?
Thanks for the ping. The gist of the article, plus the comments, indicate that we peons are wising up to big government.
Thanks
