Grossly misleading to claim an 18-month lockdown. Most restrictions (apart from a few covering large crowds) were lifted from July to October last year, again in December, and were only reimposed in March. They’ve been progressively lifted over the last 2 months. Even at their most severe, the ‘lockdown’ was never anything like as strict as in some countries. There was never a curfew (you could always go out for exercise), masking was never mandatory outdoors, and in 2021 many classes of stores etc could remain open throughout.

I work for Postal Service at a big sorting facility. Up until recently we were told we still had to wear masks,
even if fully vaccinated.

Finally the word came out Friday—if you’ve had both shots you can get away with not wearing a mask. Well over a year of this. The unvaccinated still have to wear them, according to our bosses. (My shots were in April.)

At restaurants regulations have included no indoor dining, staff and customers have to wear masks except when dining, closing early (the virus can’t get you at
9:30 but it can at 9:31),
no musical acts involving singing, etc to a bit more
freedom now.

Still in effect for public transit. I saw the Pittsburgh fireworks then had to mask up on the subway.

9 Wallis, an intimate nightclub in Beverly MA, was closed down from March of 2020 till--well, they never reopened. The owners had to keep paying rent and people missed out on what could have been many great concerts. Finally they said that was it, they are closing permanently.
