The Asian carp is getting a new name from wildlife agencies who think the title is offensive — but some critics say the move is a solution fishing for a problem.
The US Fish and Wildlife Service rebranded the freshwater fish wreaking havoc in the Midwest as “invasive carp” in April.
“We wanted to move away from any terms that cast Asian culture and people in a negative light,” Charlie Wooley, director of the Great Lakes Regional Office for the service, told The Associated Press.

Liberals can’t tell the difference between humans and fish.
They think Asian cultures are no different than fish.
Looks like we have to remove the continent of Asia from the Earth. I being raciss and all...
It’s a fish.
Who cares?
I demand they rename the German
cockroach.
Okay, I'll compromise and call them "invasive Asian carp".😀
(Wait until they try and rename walleyes!)
Globalists can’t have references to “countries” if we’re going to become a global community.
Commie Carp?
“Invasive” Carp? OK, then Tora! Tora! Tora! Carp.
Just call them “those fish”, similar using “you people” lol
ChiCom Carp.
Or the “fat-lipped mud sucker.”
In honor of Stacey Abrams.
Aside from being “woke”, it’s own form of idiocy, these people are idiots, period. They (and others) have spent, what, 20 years trying to promote Asian carp as tasty, low contamination / healthy food, in particular differentiating these carp from common carp, which usually don’t taste very good.
“Invasive carp” gives no differentiation at all. Moreover, ALL carp are non-native to North America. Only a couple species are really causing major trouble (and those only in some waterbodies and waterways, as their breeding requirements are very specific and not common. They require a quite long river to reproduce.)
*Really, the proper thing to do (aside from wokeness and marketing hurdles*) would be to just correctly call the major troublemakers by their proper names: Silver Carp and Bighead Carp.
Operations selling carp back to Asia do just that, perhaps to dispel the suggestion their products might be from heavily polluted Asian waterbodies. For example:

Well... “Dead Negro Spring” maybe could go. OTOH, if it was named “Dead Honky Spring” or “Dead Kraut Spring” it would not be a big deal to me, but then that’s because I prefer to focus on things that actually matter. (Sticks and stones, and the gov’t robbing me blind.)
Undocumented carp?
I used to hunt and camp in a canyon in New Mexico that was renamed long ago as “Negro Andy Canyon”.
Maybe it will be renamed to “African-American Andy” or “Amos and Andy Canyon”.
Years ago I read there was an area of Nevada named after local “working” girls (Wh—e House Meadows) renamed by the government as “Naughty Girl Meadows”
Renaming areas or animals is getting ridiculous.
Was the fish offended?
Now I may be just some dumb hayseed hick spittin tabackee on my shoes. Bit ain’t Asia a location? There is no “Asian” race. How many ethnicities are on Asia?
