In 2019, he published the book A Warning. He did not reveal himself to be "Anonymous" until October 2020
In August 2020, while on leave from his job at Google, he produced an ad for Republican Voters Against Trump, denouncing Trump and endorsing Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. Taylor was the first former Trump administration staff member to endorse Biden
