Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said Thursday in a preview of an interview that will air in full on Friday’s edition of NPR’s “Morning Edition” that the child tax credit of $250 to $300 per child every month under the Biden administration’s American Rescue Plan should be made permanent.

Yellen said, “We do want to make sure that every child that’s eligible to receive this tax credit — a very important source of support — will know about it and be able to get it.

I’m not a bit surprised by that. Eventually it won’t matter whether you’re a US citizen or not. But here’s the thing. As I understand it, a person can get a tax credit only by filing federal income taxes. I wonder how many illegals actually do that.

I have six kids. Five left at home. From 7 to 18.

If the country is going to the shitter, then I’ll take the money - yeah I know it’s not what a conservative should say. BUT - I have homeschooled for 19 years and not received a single sent of government funding for my kid’s education.

With each child receiving about 13K each for public education, $1500 a month is a pittance to what I should have received to educate my children.

Of course in a perfect world, we’d all be responsible to educate our own children and there wouldn’t be any public schools at all...

If they do send the money- it won’t last long. We’re about to implode from debt and the money they sent will be worthless....

AND-—IF this is considered a “:prepayment” by Biden, then when they DO fill out their 1040 to ‘get the child tax credit’, every single 1040 will have to be audited against the payments already received.

They do not pay ANY federal income taxes

A tax credit is a thinly disguised subsidy. A tax credit delivered as cash before any annual tax forms go in to the IRS is not in any way a tax credit. It is a naked subsidy, the purpose of which is to purchase votes and to edge into the Guaranteed National Alms Income.
