American Marxism

Most people sense that America is under assault by America-hating forces and worry that our freedoms are actually in jeopardy. Mark Levin's new book, "American Marxism," confirms those fears, exposes the chilling aims and methods of these malicious groups, and provides a blueprint to restore America to a path of recovery.

Levin has a gift for distilling abstract ideas into understandable terms for lay consumption. I've personally written and discussed many of the ideas he addresses in this compelling book but had not considered the term "counterrevolution" to describe what we're witnessing.

He is exactly right. This is a counterrevolution to the American revolution, and horrifyingly, "It is devouring our society and culture, swirling around our everyday lives, and ubiquitous in our politics, schools, media, and entertainment." He is also correct that this disturbing insurrection is no longer a fringe movement but is in the mainstream of our culture and institutions.

Mark identifies the source of this threat — Marxism — the sinister, utopian ideology "responsible for the enslavement, impoverishment, torture, and death of untold millions." But he goes further and usefully tags the particular brand of this menace as "American Marxism": "the application and adaption of core Marxist teachings to American society and culture."

What makes the counterrevolutionaries particularly dangerous is their sophisticated techniques of distorting language, disguising their true intent with deceitful euphemisms to disarm patriots and facilitate their scheme to fundamentally transform this nation into something unrecognizable to its founders and wholly unacceptable to all who cherish and revere the glorious American experiment in self-governance. They've labeled themselves "progressives," "social activists" and other innocuous-sounding terms because they know Americans still, by the grace of God, reject naked Marxism. More recently, they operate under such organizations as Black Lives Matter, cloaking their anti-capitalist designs in a facade of racial, environmental or gender justice. They have foisted their once-ridiculed notion of critical race theory into the forefront of our lives, forcing this dangerous philosophy into mainstream societal acceptance.

Race agitation isn't their only weapon. They've achieved considerable traction in the advancement of their agenda through divisive class warfare, which fuels their destructive policies of obscene deficit spending, confiscatory taxation, and runaway governmental and bureaucratic regulation.

Their shameless employment of identity politics is just one of many arrows in their quiver. They expand their arsenal to ensure that certain setbacks will not ultimately thwart their agenda. To shore up their bases, they promote extraconstitutional schemes to crush their opposition through ostensibly legal means, such as changing the voting rules to rig the playing field in favor of their candidates. In the name of preserving our democratic processes, they pervert them — disenfranchising people while pretending to protect their voting rights.

We saw this on the front pages lately when President Joe Biden preposterously argued that such election-integrity measures as voter ID were the greatest threat to American democracy since the Civil War. He also scored a twofer, as he invoked race — echoing his party's position that these laws are a new form of heinous Jim Crow legislation. Anyone with half a brain recognizes that eliminating the requirement of proving one's identity as a condition to voting destroys rather than safeguards the integrity of the election process. Anyone with half a molecule of discernment understands that to equate voter ID laws to suppression of the Black vote is the worst kind of patronizing insult to Black voters, who these demagogues imply aren't capable of furnishing proof of their own identity.

Levin astutely notes that while the counterrevolutionaries were formerly very cautious in concealing their goals, they are becoming more confident with their recent successes and thus more outspoken and brazen about who they are. They've also developed another formidable weapon to impose their ideas, which is to intimidate, silence and cancel those who dare to oppose them or who even casually violate their draconian rules for acceptable speech and behavior.

The stakes couldn't be higher. Whereas the American Revolution was founded on liberty and representative government and led to the freest and most powerful nation in history, the counterrevolution aims to destroy our form of government, our cherished liberties, our society and our way of life.

Levin soberly observes that to defeat the threat we face, "a unified, patriotic front of previously docile ... factions and forces" that believes America is worthy of defending must emerge. People of good will must wake up to the gravity of the threats we face and recognize "the urgency of the moment" and rise up to take back this nation.

In "American Marxism," Mark Levin paints a bleak picture of an America under siege, but he offers hope that we can turn this around and inspires us to unite around the noble cause of liberty and the salvation of the greatest nation the world has ever known.

One of the Left's techniques, of course, is to invoke just enough fact to craft a more craven yet still believable lie. (Well, believable by those "low-info" individuals who want to be deceived.)

It's easy to be craven when your ideology is so morally bankrupt, and your agendas are so utterly depraved, that you have to abandon all reason and logic to embrace such destructive ideology and advance such corrupt agendas. The level of destruction they seek, and the depth of the corruption saturating their agendas, is truly cosmic in scale. Indeed, I now truly believe this battle has been finally exposed as fundamentally spiritual. Many Left-leaning individuals--even many of those who profess to be Christians--have been utterly consumed by Evil.

The tragic irony, of course, is in their own eyes, they--and they alone--are on the side of righteousness. Funny how most of the greatest horrors of history were committed by those who truly believed they were on "the right side of history." Even the Nazis thought themselves noble.

Can't argue with you there. In fact, I firmly believe that each of us humans was created with a God-shaped hole in our souls. That is to say, I think deep down each of us feels a need for God.

Some may characterize this need as a thirst for finding meaning in life. Or as a drive to find significance. I think such characterizations are simply semantics.

However we characterize this need, this thirst, this drive, I believe that this need is what pushes so many younger individuals to fall prey to the latest cause du jour: how many Millennials are driven, and driven with an intensely profound passion, by the desire to "change the world," or to "make a difference," or to "make the world a better place"?

More to the point, if each of us does have a "God-shaped hole in our souls," what do those who have rejected God do? They find a substitute. But no substitute, no matter how seductive it may be, or how many Utopian promises it makes, can truly replace the genuine article.

One such substitute, of course, is arrogant narcissism. Consider one of the most hubris-laden statements uttered by Barack Hussein Obama (mmm, mmm, MMM!): "We are the ones we've been waiting for."

Holy cow! Religious bovines of all shapes and sizes were aghast at such a narcissistic proclamation. So, too, was any human with even a meager measure of humility aghast. The towering hubris of such a self-serving assertion is galactic in size. And yet, I think BHO was completely sincere; that is, he sincerely believes such self-serving boastful tripe.

It never enters his mind that he could possibly be sincerely wrong.

The irony is lost on them.

Indeed. And more's the pity. Though I want to see Left-leaning individuals defeated in the political arena--chiefly because their Collectivist ideology invariably and unavoidably leads to despair, destruction, and despair--I have nothing but pity for them as individuals. All of them, even Hillary!, BHO, and Biden, are God's children. God gave each and every one of us the freedom (some might call it the "terrible freedom") to choose our own damnation if that is what any one of us truly wanted.

And though I simply cannot speak for another, I know that for my part, I hope and pray that I chose to use my "terrible freedom" wisely. I hope and pray that I choose better than some of God's children have chosen. Time will tell.

personally I find that hard but I’m told to do it so I do and think we all should ,

But the Marxism has got to end.

Right there with you. Marxism is but another (inferior-quality) substitute for the genuine article that is an intimate relationship with God through his Son Jesus Christ. Which is why I find it so horrifically heartbreaking when I see any individual who has been seduced by the Siren Song of Socialism. By way of this seduction those who have swooned for it have exchanged the greatest Gift of the entire Universe for a scandalously inferior knock-off. A knock-off which is bereft of true value. A knock-off which, rather fulfilling them, instead leaves their souls utterly empty and void when all is said and done.

Socialism is like any other re-packaged Collectivist "-ism": it promises all manner of Heaven on Earth but delivers little more than just another Earth-borne Hell.

How many millions of human lives were categorically and heinously snuffed out by their Collectivist governments in the 20th Century? Some 100 million or more? You don't have to be an armchair historian to be horrified by what the past century may portend for the current one. Collectivism in all its many iterations and forms is thoroughly drenched in blood. The so-called "cancel culture" is but another preliminary step on the frightening journey from shaming one's fellow citizens--and from deeming them vermin--to later shipping the vermin to the the extermination camp.

One casual look at the sordid, blood-drenched saga of the Soviet Union; one glance at Venezuela over the past 2 decades; or even a quick examination of what currently transpires in Cuba: any one of these ought to cause the scales to fall from the eyes of each and every Marxist. But it doesn't. In fact, they only double-down on their duplicity in their impassioned defense of the indefensible.

That the scales seem firmly fixed in place is why I believe this battle has been exposed as a fundamentally spiritual one. Powers and principalities and all that.
