RALEIGH — The U.S. House minority leader, Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California, and his political committee, Take Back the House 2022, contributed $133,000 to the North Carolina Republican Party.

“Our path to a Republican majority runs through North Carolina, and I look forward to partnering with chairman Michael Whatley and the North Carolina Republican Party to Take Back the House in 2022,” said McCarthy. “The Democrats’ relentless assault on our American values must stop. Democrats seek to divide us and distract from their policies that are failing America. We, Republicans, are working together to win in 2022 and deliver a safer, stronger, and more optimistic future for all Americans.”

NCGOP Chairman Michael Whatley thanked McCarthy for his support, which he says will be used in the state’s 14 Congressional races in 2022.

“North Carolina will be on the frontlines of the Republican effort to take back the House next year, and we are grateful for Leader McCarthy’s early investments in North Carolina and other critical battleground states to ensure Republicans win back control of Congress and put an end to the far left’s disastrous policies,” said Whatley.

This is probably so they can shore up Pat McCrory against Ted Budd.

Whatever it takes to defeat a "Trump" conservative.

How does someone who earns $193K afford to donate $133K to anything?

“How does someone who earns $193K afford to donate $133K to anything?”

My first thoughts were along those lines...

ANY politician who can afford to make SIX-FIGURE political “donations” is crooked. I don’t care what party.

It’s not from his salary. It’s likely from the NRCC fund or a similar fundraising fund.

What was the initial source of this cash? Soros? Black Rock Financial?

Anybody he supports is a RINO anti-Trumper.
Maybe his “girlfriend” Frank Luntz gave it to him.

He can donate from his campaign fund, so essentially he’s acting as a bundler.

Bush League Republicans like McCarthy still control all the levers of power within the GOP.
They want more Amnesty Senators so they can give the Democrats a permanent majority.
Tillis, Cornyn, Grahamnesty, Hoeven and Rubio KNOW that will be the end result of amnesty.

Kevin McCarthy['s] political committee, Take Back the House 2022

It's not for the voters. It's for the RINOs. The fact that McCarthy is minority leader shows the power that losers still have in the GOP.

The GOP seats in NC were won like so:

District 3 won 63-37
District 5 won 67-31
District 7 won 60-40
District 8 won 53-47
District 9 won 56-44
District 10 won 69-31
District 11 won 55-42
District 13 won 68-32

Closest Dem seat was District 1 54-46

The only conceivable recipient would be District 8 to defend a 6% win. A poster above suggested District 13’s nomination process might get money, but a candidate with that big a lead won’t need money — though that seatholder T Budd is running for the US Senate seat. His wiki pro Trump credentials look clean, but he’s only been in Congress this single term (which means not part of the swamp).

Can’t you gentlemen read? Or perhaps you didn’t understand who actually gave the money, it didn’t come from McCarthy personally it came from his PAC.

I know from personal experience, not with McCarthy, but with other pols over the decades that they are cheap bastards and McCarthy doesn’t have a dime of his money in the $133 Large.

It doesn’t make it any better, actually it doesn’t make it worse either. I don’t care who anybody gives money too as long as it follows the law. The Constitution allows us that right.

As far as the minority leader giving money to the GOPe? It’s his right, but it’s a damn stupid move that I hope he pays dearly for. Perhaps he can go hang out after 2022 with the original Orange Man Bad…John Boehner and they can go off into the sunset smoking doobies and slugging Tequila never to be seen or heard from again.

Its all in the wording. The money isn't actually coming from Kevin, but from his campaign war chest that has been filled by lobbyist donations. Even the minority leader builds a massive pile of campaign cash. In Kevin's case it will be carefully spread to RINO candidates in close primary races.

I think they can transfer their campaign contributions to a different campaign fund. It may not be his personal money.
