Trump getting tougher for Senate GOP to ignore

Senate Republican leaders have tried to put former President Trump in the rearview mirror, rarely mentioning his name and keeping focused instead on the Democratic agenda, but Trump’s iron grip on the party’s grassroots is making it tougher and tougher to keep ignoring him.

Mainstream Republicans are getting increasingly caught up in the party’s internal battle over Trump’s legacy, with even stalwart conservatives such as Sens. James Lankford (R-Okla.), Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), John Boozman (R-Ark.) and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) getting called out as insufficiently loyal to Trump or “Republicans in name only.”

Trump again showed his lock on the party’s activist base over the weekend by winning the Conservative Political Action Conference straw poll with 70 percent of the vote, crushing the second-place winner, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who came in a distant second with 21 percent.

Trump touted his strong showing by releasing a statement through Save America PAC: “98 percent approval rating at CPAC, the highest ever, by far. A new record!”

This makes it tougher for leading Senate Republicans, including Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), to keep on ignoring Trump.

McConnell during his tour of Kentucky during the July 4th recess kept to his months-long practice of not uttering Trump’s name, instead referring to events that occurred during the past four years as having happened during “the previous administration.”

Pressed by reporters on his views of Trump, McConnell has avoided the topic by saying he’s primarily focused on stopping Biden’s agenda.

But Trump keeps popping up in the national political conversation, even though he has been permanently banned by Twitter and suspended by Facebook, and major television networks have skipped carrying his rallies.

Trump on Monday warned that Republican candidates who don’t publicly embrace him are setting themselves up for failure in the next election.

Poor widdle senators don't like their fiefdom disturbed.

They thought they'd successfully put Trump and his followers in exile.

But it's THEY who will watch as their beloved colleagues are thrown out on their widdle asses.

Whoever is running Trump's website needs to take a lesson from sites like Free Republic.

They need a title and teaser text on his statements. At it stands, it's impossible to follow his statements.

It’s a delaying tactic for the ‘GOP’....they’re waiting for some talking points from the DNC! 😉

Which is why the only chance we’ve got is to send a message loud and clear in the 2022 primaries and vote out all GOP incumbents.

They won’t mistake the message we’re sending. Play time is over.

Just a small blurb after the line in parenthesis like (Cuba) or (Infrastructure Bill) etc... I agree.

the Senate GOP are Traitors to the Constitution,
to their voters, to the Republic of the United States.

All of them knew of the CCP TREASON, and the FIB SEDITION
and their Guillotines and murders of vets,
and STILL HAVE DONE NOTHING, except steal donations
made to PRESIDENT TRUMP for themselves. SCUM.

It is not that they keep ignoring Trump but that they keep ignoring the Republican voter. This is what created Trump. If they had been doing their job in the first place Trump would not have been necessary.

The Hill writes this as being about Trump. Either the author is avoiding the elephant in the room or truly is tone deaf, because this is really about the 75 million (”official”) to 90+ million (suspected) who voted for Trump and are being ill served by the Uniparty club.

Just follow the statement on Cuba, on Infrastructure Bill, etc. announce what the statement is on. That makes it searchable.

Remember when we were told Trump was a fighter ?

Remember when YOU even used that line as an endorsement and an endearment to your own heart ?

NOW you'll remember how exacting he is in describing whom he will fight.

There's a lot to like about the man, President Trump.

Consistency is one of those elements

P.S.

I'm rerminded of a verse in Psalms;

Psalm 51:21

These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

Like ... God's gonn'a accept our feeble, "But I'm Irish (or whatever), n' God knows I have a temper, I drink, I dance I _______ (fillit in) "

... and literally, No, God doesn't accept that.

They cannot ignore President Trump because we won’t let them. Try as they might the dems/media/RINO’s have not and cannot drive a wedge between President Trump and the 75+Million Patriots who voted for him.
