SYDNEY, July 12 – The prospect of an extended lockdown in Sydney loomed on Monday as Australian health officials reported yet another record daily rise in COVID-19 cases for the year, fuelled by the highly infectious Delta variant.
New South Wales state reported 112 new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, almost all in Sydney, despite the country’s biggest city entering its third week of lockdown. Case numbers have been at record levels for at least three days.
There was, however, a glimmer of light as the number of newly-infected people who were out in the community while infectious dropped to 34 from 45 on Sunday.
State Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the progress of that figure in coming days would determine whether Sydney’s lockdown, due to end on Friday, would be extended.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...
Isn’t that what we hope for, that the virus is changed enough that very few die from it anymore? Who cares if it’s contagious?
According to the article:
Total infections in the outbreak are nearing 700, less than a month since the first was detected in mid-June. Sixty-three people are in the hospital, with 18 in intensive care, officials said,
That means 9% infected were hospitalized. How huge a burden is this on the hospitals?
You can’t stop it from running it’s course no matter what you do , fools
RE: Oct 20th is the last death... So, essentially no one is dying in the country and they are panicking? They ought to hang their media.

With a country of 25 million, I doubt 18 people in intensive care is much of a burden. What age are these 18 people? If you’re healthy under 50, the chances of dying are slim to none. If you’re under 25, the chances of dying of COVID is 1 in a Million. All those that start therapeutics early are cured (that should be where the energy is spent)
They should be working on improving cures, pushing early treatment, and stop destroying the economy over the flu.
Despite? Probably not.
So is it from the vaccine or are they ramping up the tests for false positives again?
It will be popcorn time for the appearance of ADE. Hopefully it doesn't happen. Everybody in my family except me got the shot.

C.) Both.
Despite or because of?
“And the length of this lockdown is up each and every one of us.”
Horse hockey.
It is the prog that are desperate to keep their fascist power over the population.
.
Proving for all but the deeply indoctrinated that shutdowns, masks, and social distancing cause viral infections.
Chilling.
Ah heck, mates, just put on Masks #5-8 and you’ll be all right
They need to work on getting a Bill of Rights down in Australia...their politicians are all tyrannical over really low infection and deaths rates: 1,210 cases per million of population and 35 fatalities per million. Contrast that with the USA with 104,357 cases per million and 1,871 fatalities per million. Classic “overreaction”.
Medicine practiced by Dummies.
Lock people down in enclosed spaces with a respiratory virus and be surprised that infections increase? Isn’t this virology 101. Lockdowns show the sheer incompetence of government officials worldwide.
